Verbs, is this the APZS 02 or 03 cam? Maybe Mike will chime in here with a few more details. Those are really great numbers btw! I have two buddies with 02's in their cars and they run pretty good. If it's an 03 or bigger then it's a monster. The AZPS cams are pretty good. They do lack a bit of low end grunt but other than that, they scream up top. I believe AZPS uses Comp 921 or PRC Springs (I think) for the person who was asking. Mike and AZPS are a pretty cool group of guys.

In Phoenix in the summer that would be damn near impossible No cooler than 90 degrees in the shop with the bays open, and I doubt they'd want to poison themselves with the exhaust gas because the bays are closed

Ok I will chime in sorry I didnt see this sooner.

The car is a Local 05 GTO it was the AZPS 03 Cam.
Mods were Fast 90, LT's, Volant CAI and our 03 Cam.

It is worth the drive I have an 03 Cam in my car and its badass.
We also do offer hotel Packages if you come stay and we can also go pick the car up if you have it shipped to Phoenix. Currently the Cam specs are not given out but when you buy the cam package you can ask for them. I do sales for AZPS so if you have any ?'s about anything feel free to PM me

My buddy has an 02 M6 WS6 with APZS 02 cam, custom true dual exhaust, LT's, and Lid. He's making 422rwhp and I think his tq is in the 385rwtq ball park. Not bad at all. Like I said before AZPS cams love and need high RPM to really get the car moving. Then again, nothing a set of 4.10's cant handle.

Havent had the chance to dyno the car cause its so damn hot so its just got a really conservative tune and waiting for winter. Actaully tony from the small dyno tune (1 run) that I got in before it was horrible outside I picked up 30ft lbs of tq over my X3 under the curve but they do like the high RPM's

This car sounds like a real freak. What are the normal numbers that a cam only will make without the Fast 90? In other words what rwhp range are you seeing from this cam on the GTO?

why is it that the AZPS 03 is making 30 more lbs-ft torque under the curve than the X3?

With the 1 size smaller cam the 02 Cam GTO's are putting 420's to the wheels. We havent had an 03 Cammed Car without a Fast 90 on it because the cam needs more air

I cant say the technical why because then I would have to get into specs and I cant do that. I can just tell you that its design is in a way that pull's much more power everywhere

My bad,
I guess I should refrase my comment. 350rwtq is pretty damn good but I've driven/raced a few cars with 02 cams and they dont feel like they have that much low end tq. Maybe it's just me though. I'm in no way bashing AZPS because I think they are a bunch of cool guys! Matter of fact, I almost bought an 02 cam for my car. I'm just stating my opinion and what I notice when I drove/raced these cars. I think you would agree that these cams love to be in the upper RPM's. That's where they really shine! What did you put down with your 03 and mods in your sig?

Great numbers but to back them up IMO you need to run a big trap speed at the track. Its been proven that you can change dyno numbers with a few tricks and tweaks. We recently had a car that a NJ tuner did that supposedly laid down 49xrwhp and I had a chance to drive it and it certainly didnt feel like it was stronger than any normal H & C. Took it to the track with wideband and ran 122-124mph which doesn't show its making 490rwhp. bottom line, if these "freak" cars lay down the big number than it will back it up the number.

113 degrees outside during the run... Thought about doing a backup pass in the morning when it was cool out but I will let the others catch up first

I wouldn't expect very good numbers out of it at the track. especially with the limited GTO gearing.
fastest N/A stock bottom end GTO in the country runs this setup this includes head/cam cars comparing to the cam only
