WHERE IS THE MAGIC IN THIS NEW COMBO ??

AND IT IS ALSO SO CHEAP (then good to go!!)..... compare to others so elaborated.

IVC seems to be at 48* and SCR : 10.6 and DCR 8.05

Some one to clear my thought or to help me understand where I make the mistake ???

Christian
IVC is at 46 degrees ABDC at .050". It would not be my style to have an IVC later than 46 degrees for a 346 for someone wanting to maximize area under the curve. This cam gives good DCR and puts the overlap right over TDC (both keys in making big average power under the curve).

Hi Patrick

Thank you to correct my first mistake about the IVC :
it is 46* at 0.050 and 70.5* at 0.006 wich is following your rules the max IVC compatible with a F.A.S.T. 90/90 on a 346ci.

If I consider for SauronWS6 241's heads a SCR (this is may be optimistic) of 10.7/1 the DRC comes to 8.10, pretty low no for a good power under the curve (and also not favorable to max torque) !

Are the 19* of overlap at 0.050 the key # to this torque at 3000rpm or is it the IVO at 0.006 of 34.5* vs the EVC of 33.5* still at 0.006??

Or maybe this cam is perfectly balanced with the shape and the flow # of those 241...

This combo is the best in my book at 3000rpm (higher than your's) that I have seen around (for a street car, na, no NOS)... but so good all the way to the top!!!

It is going to be killer on the street, but what about the track??

This combo in my opinion has no weak spots in the graph. It's extremely well balanced. It will do very well at both the track and the street.

And I wouldn't poo-poo the 8.10:1 DCR. Most people running an M34 with stock heads have dynamic compression in the low 7s. This cam is much better for lower compression combos.

Hi cws T/A

10.7 was just a guess for the calculation.

If you have the SCR at 10.12 then your DCR is 7.70 (that's low) for a 46* IVC.

Does someone knows if it is Flywheel HP or Rear Wheel HP??

One more time congratulation, I will wait for your drivability results.
Very impressed by your torque down low, your numbers are over Patrick G numbers at 3000 rpm....

Christian

a graph of Patrick with his set-up dynoed at MTI, your torque curve and the power down is definitively HUGE : monster combo with a BIGGER cam....

the dcr isnt bad for this size cam {stock f-body compression} . with some heads milled the scr would rise and the dcr would be right were you want it for pump gas.

That dyno was not my best effort. Apparently I had clogged cats and a so-so tune. Here is a graph of my current dyno numbers, 475/429:

Both of those graphs are amazing. The torque is the really amazing part. Looks like I know where I need to go advice in the next few months as I get ready for my Vette to get a head/cam setup.

Patrick, what difference does head gasket thickness make? Would I make more or less with cometic gaskets? I'm using the MLS .060s right now.

You'd probably pick up quite a bit.

Back in the "old days" we were happy to have 360/370rwtq out of 350ish cubic inches on a dyno jet.

Now 420,430, and 440 out of streetable cars. What if this was a 15:1 CR monster?
