Default 400rwhp A4 possible with this setup?

Take a 2001 LS1 and do the following:

Pacesetter Longtubes, X-Pipe duals, Bullets
Lid, FRA
Futral F11 Cam 228/230 .576/.595, unsure of LSA (would there even be a noticeable difference between 112 and 114?)
Valvetrain overhaul for the cam
FAST 90mm intake, NW 90mm TB
Stock heads
And a good tune

This is through an SS3600 converter and stock rear axle.

I am thinking with that cam the 90/90 should give about the same gains as a set of ported LS6 heads. So would 400rwhp be reachable with this? All plans are subject to change without notice

yeah you should make 400rwhp, but the 90/90 is a little too much for just those mods. but it all depends on what your future mods are going to be.

Dont think so, I have basically the same mods and I made around 357-360. Check my cardomain for the dyno sheet.

A little too much? I've seen decent gains posted with it, so I didn't think so. Maybe i'm wrong? Can't a cam like this pull enough air to make it work well?

The reason why I wanted to go that route, was to possibly look into the FAST 90 w/direct port nitrous that I saw on here a while back.

I think with stock heads you'll prolly come up a little shy of 400. Thats a decent sized cam though. With my setup I got 409 with the ported stock heads but you have better exhaust mods. If I had to guess, I'd say 380-390 hp.

By the way, the fast 90 is sick. Don't listen to the nay sayers. It'll give you gains and can only help more when you do more mods.

No way..... I had that cam, with most bolt-ons (minus a pulley) and through a ssf 3500 with a cutout and it made 34x-35x rwhp...... Id say you will be around 36c-370 rwhp at most.....Its according to how efficient your stall is....

Are you talking STD or SAE correction. Dynojet or Mustang Dyno. Lockup stall or not.

From the lowest combo above to the highest you could easily see 40rwhp+ difference in results from the exact same car.

My girlfriends car needed heads to get over 400, just barely, with a 224/228 cam..

The fast 90/90 was worth 20+rwhp on her combo.....

Red car in sig....

I would just pass on the 90 mm intake for now and get some heads. You will see way more hp gains from heads than the intake. I think tsp has some nice stage 1 ls6 heads for around 899 . That cam and those heads will get ya there for sure and you will have some money left over.

with a TR230/236 .589/.598 112lsa and 90/90 and all the bolts ons with a good exhaust... i put down 399rwhp through a shot A4 with a SS4000e and through a 12bolt with 4.10 gears and a big *** driveshaft..... alot of it has to do with setting everything right in the valve train, spring pressure, lifters turned the right way, cam degreed for your particular setup...

honestly i think ull be around 370-380ish range. I would not do the FAST and i would pick up some heads, the intake wont help you as much as some heads will.

Thanks for the input. I guess maybe a 400rwhp dyno would be possible with a locked run?

Not sure if I want to do heads, you don't get much bang/buck unless you spend some big dollars. I'll have a lot of time to think about it though, these are all spring time plans.

Again though the reason why I wanted to do the FAST 90/90 was because I wanted the one with the direct port nitrous so it would have a dual purpose. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on that little performance alone, but if you guys don't think its worth it ill consider other options.

I pulled over 400 rwhp with the F11 and PP stage 2 heads. This was locked though my convertor is crap so i never checked it unlocked.
