Default Tuned a G5x3 c5z06 to 461whp!

So I just hp tuned my buddies 02 z06 G5x3 cam only vette to a whopping 461whp/440wtq.

Honestly I don't believe the numbers myself but he dynoed just weeks earlier on the same dyno with LG longtubes, full exhaust at 370whp so the dyno isn't off. He was trapping 116+ with 12.8 (bad 60ft) with that setup.

AFR was ~12.8 and timing 24-26. It didn't like any more timing and everything else looked normal.

It sure pulls on the highway like it has the power.... He's going to the track next week so those numbers will tell all.... But 461? is that possible? No FAST, no EWP, etc...

I'll post up the graph later when he scans it for me. Typical cammed car power and tq curves... peaks ~6700 and tq at 4500.

The hp is a little more believable than the torque. A torque number that high needs lots of static and dynamic compression. A stock headed Z06 is not going to give you that. Do you have a print-out of the weather conditions from the dyno? Maybe there was a really low barometer entered or a really high temperature entered. Either of those could skew power and torque into the fictitious direction.

The G5X3 is a great cam, but I don't see it making that kind of HP and torque cam only. Something doesn't sound right.

yea that torque is extremely suspect, the numbers are more than likely STD numbers, and he must be quoting a torque spike...

STD numbers will not pump your number up that high. I bet that the temp and pressure were way off.

It was my z06 that he dynoed, here is the graph. It was on a dyno dynamics dyno. The numbers are not what I expected at all I figured 430 hp would be awsome. Jim wasnt correct on my 1/4 miles time with just the Long tubes, I ran a 12.4 at 116 with a 2.3 60 foot.

Looks good, it is on a Dyno Dynamic, which the one's around here read very similar to our dynojet.

Funny things is the first post says I just tuned my buddy's car.... then his graph shows a dyno date of 7-10-06.
Something is off there.

Anyways have fun with the new setup. Your track numbers will probally show lower then the 460+ HP but either way should be lots of fun.

That thing is way to rich for me. I like 13.0 on motor.
Probally isn't much of a power difference though.

I dont know why the date is off but that is what I dynoed today at 9am. It was Ron Williams at gateway Motorsports dyno. Ron mostly deals with Subarus and Mitsubishis, hints the AWD dyno. Thanks for pointing that date out for me I will call and have him fix that.

Numbers seem really high to me. I have ported heads and milled 243 heads, similar cam and a rebuilt bottom end. I didn't get anywhere near that power, i think something is fishy.

VERY NICE NUMBERS!!

Saw the car in person today and the graphs.

My H/C M6 Z28 put down 408/374 and was beat by 1.5 cars when this car had longtubes/catback only!!!

My 2000 FRC when it was cam only (g5x3) put down 400 or 403 rwhp and 380+ rwtq. I know LS1 heads will hurt my numbers a little VS LS6 heads, but damn your numbers are unreal. What is your compression? Do you have one of those "factory freaks" ? Maybe if you give us a little more information we can figure this out.

yeah something didnt add up i dont think..I would try another dyno if there is one close to get a second read on it....I mean 350lbft at 2600rpm just doesnt seem right with stock heads and a g5x3..if you get a second read on it,and its close to the same then i would start celebrating and buy a set of afr 205's and try to hit 500.

it would have to be not only the same type of dyno but also a very similar calibration, same air, same altitude, same amount of grease in the bearings...get my point? you cant just go to another dyno and make the same "numbers".

I'd be happy with those numbers with my etp 215's/custom cam and 90/90 set-up. Congrats!
