Default 383 LS1 Silverado Dyno #s/Chart!

Went to Futral Motorsports yesterday for my dyno-tune. I didn't get chance to put on the ASP Crank Pulley. I took my g/f with me and she had to be back at a certain time so, time was limited.

This is a 1998 LS1 block with:

-11.13:1 Compression
-4.000" Eagle Crank
-6.125" Scat H-Beams
-Mahle 3.903" -6cc pistons
-F13 (230/232-.595/.585-114+4)
-Stage 2 Patriot Performance 5.3 Heads
-ARP Main Studs
-TRUCK intake
-STOCK Crank Pulley
-LaPole Mid-Length Headers
-44lb Injectors
-K&N Intake
-Descreened MAF
-FMS ported Throttle body
-FMS dyno-tune

The Blue is run through the full exhaust. The Red is with the cut-outs open! The cut-outs were worth 15rwhp/10rwtq across most of the powerband. Peak #s were a little less than I was expecting. But, I'm still running the stock cats through a full true dual exhaust, truck intake, and stock pulley. I think this is still pretty good considering these restrictions. BIG thanks to Allan Futral who worked his magic! He has been a tremendous help and his customer service is top notch! The first dyno was 341rwhp and the final numbers were 367.85rwhp/365.68rwtq through the cats and 382.2rwhp/376.19rwtq through the cut-outs. Allan told me he wished I could stay so he could mess with it a little bit more, but my g/f had to be back in town by 6:00 and it was a 4 hour drive. I told him my plans about a LS6 intake and bigger stall (running a stock stall) and he seemed to think those would make nice difference.
When I go back in the summer, I plan to have:
-Magnaflow Ceramic Cats
-ASP Crank Pulley
-LS6 intake
-Yank 2600 installed at FMS

I'm very impressed with numbers I've gained 96rwhp/86rwtq from the cammed 5.3 set-up and lots more under the curve.

These pulls were in 2nd gear and stock size tires (255/70/16). He did a 3rd gear pull and it put down 374rwhp through the full exhaust.

With a 20% drivetrain loss, I firgured It's making 478/470 at the flywheel.

Here's a couple of pics from the motor swap.

That's my buddy in the back. We're pulling the cammed 5.3

Here's the FLT level IV 4L60-E

Putting the rockers on that were reworked by Harland Sharp. The patriot heads sure look nice!

Here's the painted valve covers that turned out nice for a first timer!

Not bad for an Auto truck. If you do some more bolt ons and change the intake that should get you over 400 easy. Then you just need a bigger cam.

Thanks man! I'm really wanting to see the results of the LS6 intake and pulley. I'm very happy with the powerband of the cam. But, we all get greedy sooner or later!

Runs very good, especially after Allan's dyno-tune! The FLT is real nice. Firm shifts, not too hard, even at WOT. In a few years when I upgrade to a 4L80-E, I'm using them again, good people.

An extra 100hp is always nice. Looks like you did a clean install, and there is plenty of power left to be had.

Thanks! It surprises a bunch of people when I tell them what I have in my truck. It looks bone stock, except for tinted windows, clear corners, dual exhaust in the back with a slight lope and of course, the "HEMI KILLER" sticker on the back glass! It pisses so many of the dodge guys off, I always wait for their reaction in my mirror.

I'm hoping to make at least 410rwhp next time I go down there with an ASP Crank Pulley and LS6 intake. From what I've been reading about the truck intake, I don't think it'll be a problem. Their have been a few people that keep insisting that the truck intake does the same as an LS6 and that if I go with an LS6 intake, I'll just loose a bunch of bottom end torque below 3000rpms. I don't think I will, if anything I'd think that I'd actually gain some with the 383. What do you guys think?

Thanks! It feels real good! Just wish I could get some races to see how fast it is now. Tried to get a bone stock vette to race me the other day, no bite. I'd like to be able to at least beat a new mustang GT with a few mods.

I had thought about doing a Carb intake/elbow conversion until I saw the dyno charts somebody put in the internal engine thread I had. I want the 90/90, but don't want to chance the slight low-end loss in a big heavy truck. I just want a little more under the curve and more top-end where mine goes flat because of the truck intake. Now, I'm thinking about the 78mm FAST intake and having it "Mamo Ported"!

if your going to get FAST intake might as well get the 90/90 setup! Or i would just run a ls6 with a ported tb
