Famous last words. Just as there should be a procreation dept alongside the DMV that decides weather you and your squeeze are worthy of producing offspring there should be a Dept of Modding that doesn't allow 98 owners to spin past 6700rpms without upgrading their rod bolts.

I spun my old 98 to 7500 and my current 98 to 7100, stock 100k+ mile shortblocks and a lot of power.

It is all in the tune. I got mine idleing at 850rpms and I have almost no surging and bucking. The car is really mild considering the size of the cam. I can drive at 35-40 mph in 6th gear without needing my cowboy hat! There is a hint of bucking at 1,000-1,100rpm on first gear if you accelerate very, very slowly but that is it. I daily drive my car.

I got injectors coming and a I'm shopping for a new clutch as my stock LS6 is slipping in 3rd and 4th. Once those details are taken care off is off to the dyno.

Turning it to 7000 seems to make the difference, especially at the track. Don't forget a ported throttle body. Good numbers man, but take it to the track.
