So I took the Z to get tuned over at Redline Motorsports on Saturday. The Z has been running and driving for a while but I knew that my setup was not quite optimal. The motor is a mildy modded LS1 out of a 2000 Z28, my mods are as follows
Custom air intake
LS6 intake manifold
GM "Hot Cam" (217/228 Duration @ .050 .525"/.525" lift 112LSA )
LS6 valve springs
SLP hardened pushrods, Chrome Moly 7.400''
ASP Crank pulley
Walbro GSS340 fuel pump
Aeromotive A1000-6 fuel pressure regulator
Nash Motorsports long tube headers
2.5" custom exhaust (2.5" X pipe, cats, and Magnaflow mufflers)
On Saturday we had some rain on the way and humidity was up in the neiborhood of 48%, so big impressive dyno numbers were going to be hard to come by. My baseline was 335hp/340tq at the wheels, and for comparisons sake there was a new C6 Vette in the shop which also baselined at 335rwhp on the same day.
After Howard worked his tuning magic my peak numbers ended up at 357hp/372tq with the torque being in the 370 neighborhood from 2500 till peak. My goal was to be in the 370/370 range, but I did not leave disappointed as the torque curve is pure sechs
Here's the graph, if I figure out this video editing so???are I'll get a short clip up later on. Don't pay attention to the car that is listed, the PCM that I am using was locked for some reason, and we tuned my car using a computer Howard had in his shop. Once we can get my PCM unlocked, we'll load his tune onto my car.

Damn looks sick and I dont blame you if I had that car i wouldnt be sitting around taking pictures either haha. BTW what did the car weigh stocka nd now with the ls1 transplant? Also no need to drag race that car, i would do the same, take it to the road track and whoop on people.

My first track day for this year is in two weeks.....I can't wait!
Stock weight is 2690lbs, I haven't weighed her now with the conversion. The LS1 is a little heavier than the I4 that was originally in the car, but it is still lighter than some of the iron I6's that BMW put in Z3's in later years.
In addition to the LS1 weighing a little more, I have a rollbar which weighs approx 40lbs, a front strut brace that weighs a few lbs, dual exhaust instead of single exhaust. However, I do not have any of the A/C crap in there anymore so that should offset things a little. I hope to get to some scales this month, but my best guess is 2850-2900lbs.

Nice!
Ive got a 96 z3 as a daily driver too and was curious as to what it would take to throw an ls1 in there (got 120k miles on the motor now on stock i4).
Any idea what the total cost was for the transplant?

****, ok forget that conversion, lol. I was thinking maybe 3k for motor/pcm, 1500 for tranny, 1k for conversion kit for motor mounts and stuff, and another 1-2k for random miscellaneous things.
i was debating between a 2jz and an ls1... but now I think ill just keep it stock, lol.
