Default LS7 Intake porting results

Had a chance to port an LS7 intake manifold today I am happy with the peak power but am amazed at the low end gains! The car made its base pulls, had the intake removed/ported then reinstalled and retuned for the intake.

We also tried several ls7 throttle bodies-one stock, one that we ported in house and one aftermarket one. All 3 TB's made within 2rwp of eachother in no consistant order. The only noticeable difference was part throttle response.

Wow, those are some great improvements from a simple porting. What size is that intake?

What am I missing? How are you running an LS7 intake with TEA heads?

So, were the gains from the porting on the intake, or from the re-tune? Was it tuned to perfection before the intake was ported?

It is a good question.

The history of the car is that it has a small cam, long tube headers cai and tune done. This is Synergy's stage 2 set up. The car came to my shop for a small friday night dyno event. It made 501-503 rwp I then tweaked it that night and got it to 509.

The tune that was in it when it came to the shop for the dyno event from Synergy was very tight and I was most likely only able to pick up power by making some adjustments to the current air conditions/load differences between our dynos.

When I put the car on the dyno the other day it had that tune it it and I knew that this would test the porting because I felt the car was at its limit for the mods it had.

If I could have made more power out of it before I would have becasue at the time of the original tuning we had not planned on doing the intake

Mitchel, have you ported any FAST 90 intakes with any results?

You should try and see what happens.

Thank you for explaining that. Not everyone here is as up front when they are telling us the gains without a proper tune. Good job!! Great gains
