Default Vette Doctors 402 results

Well guys,,, they did it again.. Picked my car from the Vette Doctors today.. I made some drastic changes to make my car more "streetable" and "reliable".. I live too far away from the real world to be keeping the car in the "danger zone" any more.. Too freakin expensive breakin stuff too!!

Dennis assembled a 402 for me. Carmen tuned it. In a nutshell, it put out 502 hp and 466 ft lbs of torque through my A4. (3500 stall and 3.42 gears) Though I didn't push it on the way home, a few short "bursts" let me know this has got some REAL grunt.. I could have gone with more cam and hotter heads to bump up the hp. It would have defeated the purpose IMHO.

I considered going with one of the 402 "crate motors".. I'm really glad I didn't. Nothing like a hand built motor by the best engine builder around!!

Thanks to all the guys in the shop as well! The car was spotless when I picked it up.

Your numbers look almost identicle to mine. I just swapped out the cam in my car and ended up putting down 500 rwhp and 462 rwtq through an a4 with a 3600 stall and 3:73 gears.

Out of curiousity what heads are you running and what is your compression.

After putting some miles on the car this weekend, I gotta say this thing runs very strong. I know I have lost a bunch taking the 427 w/supercharger out but this is very impressive..

Still very few "real street" cars up here that could get by me!!

Now I gotta get me some more Nitto drag radials....
