Default Upgrade from P1 to D1

Best I could get was 548 rwhp 563 rwtq on 10#. I didn't gain anymore boost. But under the curve I gained quite a bit.

Blue line is the P1. Red line is the D1

Don't know why I am peaking so soon.

Seems like a nice upgrade. You gained all over nicely. But yeah, your peak is real early. With my cam, I peek at 6900 and its a little smaller than yours. I push #12lbs and see 527 rwhp on a mustang dyno.

Its hard for us A4's to make large power it seems.

If I could peak @ 6900 I would be well over 600 rwhp.

Do you have a sheet you can post?

Have you logged boost? Blower cars should never stop pulling!

Next time I dyno I will. My friend was watching the boost gauge. It immediately went to 10# and held then finally hit 11# at the end of the run.

Nice.

I have been looking at other sheets, and most of the time I don't peak as high. But under the curve I have quite a bit of power.

You have 300 rwtq @ 4000 rpms and I show 550 rwtq.

I guess I can't really complain about the peak power. Torque is what I want.

Like I said, A4's don't show the power. Its hard to compare to M6 dyno numbers.

Do yo spray your car often?

The Cam is making it peak early.222 Cam in a 383ci is pretty small.Makes a good average power though.

When I picked out the cam, I forgot when you have more ci. You need more cam. I was keeping in mind smog, which why didn't go too big. But now after seeing the dyno, I should have went with something like 224/230 on a 115

The old setup had a TR 224 on a 114. That one peaked around 6000

Truthfully I would boost it more.Try to get 14-16lbs and run pure methenol from a Alky control kit. Will still be reliable and will put you at or near 700rwhp with awesome midrange.

Something doesn't seem right. Regardless of the cam that is in it, I would think with the smallest pulley you should see more than 10# even on a 383. I would definately swap to the 4.5" IC's.

They do make a 3.0"

I'm guessing here. You probably have a 6-rib setup w/ a larger crank pulley. I would think also, if this is what you have, that you're slipping.

I just tried a 3.5" pulley with a MMS crank pulley and could not get it to grip. The belt was slipping and got shredded. I need to upgrade to a 8-rib setup. I have a 4" on now and seeing 12 lbs.

I was expected more too. I am debating on the 4.5" or FMIC.

I had the 3.0" in there first, but swapped to the 3.2 to see if I was slipping. No change in boost.

I am running the SDCE tensioner with a 8 rib belt.
