Default 1998 Z28 dynoed today

I had my car dynoed with all the mods in my sig. It was tuned by harris speed works who did an excellent job. It dynoed 339 RWHP, and 344 RWT. Is that good for my mods. Thanks

We got similar mods, there's a bit more you can probably get with a tune

We got similar mods, there's a bit more you can probably get with a tune
I already had it tuned.

My 98 Z28 made 329hp/342tq. This was with long tubes, lid, and catback only. Car still had stock throttle body, ls1 intake, no tune, and a 12 bolt with 4.10's.

My car made the same power and HSW did the tune. We have identical mods

wow-same year, almost identical mods and dyno #'s. a few simple bolt ons and the bastard 98's are right there with the 01-02's.

I guess true duals might give me an edge then numbers wise, we'll see how my cam wakes my beast car up heh

After the major bolt ons, my car felt a lot stronger up top, keep an eye and feel for the 4000-5000 rpm range, that part really picks up for me, good place to run from during a roll run heh.

All dynos are different, i just dynoed up here in montreal and only put down 320rwhp and 320rwtq with cutout closed, thats 21rwhp and 25rwtq diff from the HSW dyno and did 330rwhp and 330rwtq with cutout open. So the cutout gained me 10hp and 10tq. I have to take it to the track really, if i run traps in the 111-112 range, id be happy and i know the power is there.


There were 2 other ls1s that dynoed as well and only put down 296rwhp and 300rwhp respectively with lid/cutout. So me having ls6 intake/headers over them you see i put down 20-30rwhp more than them. Dynojets do read low but on this site i find its rare you see a bolton ls1 under 350rwhp and 350tq.

No LS6 intake or ported TB.

People have historically thrashed or written off the '98's. My '98 SS has 19,000 original miles on her and still gets better with more mileage...

With the right combo of mods these earlier cars can perform quite nicely
