Nice power. Your cam is certainly bigger than most people have been running with L92s. It would be interesting to see your graph. Can you post it up?

I wouldn't think that the DR would rob 15hp, but then again, I don't really know what I'm talking about.

You could probably benefit from some bigger headers too. There was a post here in the dyno section recently, where a guy with a 400+ cube LS motor, went larger with his headers, I think from a 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 and he gained quite a bit.

How is the driveability with that cam? How is the idle? Difficult to tune?

The reason I ask is I have a 250/262 113 going in my 427 L92. I would like to see a graph as well.

I made 501/467 with a 234-240 112 +0 cam in a 403 with Stage 2 WCCH L92's, cats, heavy wheels, all belts, stock water pump and 3.90's. The car is a dream to drive.

My $.02

Sounds like the combo just isnt maximized. The L92 setup seems to love large tube headers, lots of timing and a good amount of compression. I'd like to see how some stepped 1 3/4 - 1 7/8's would do for a L92 combo. You'd think the velocity of the stepped header would be a big + for the short comings of the exhaust port of the head. I'd also venture to say that the cam is just too big. I could easily be wrong but thats just how I see it.

I think these heads like a little more LSA too. But I too think a larger primary would help and maybe porting the intake.

The compression is too low for that big of a cam. I'd mill the heads for 11:5 CR (depending on the cam), run 1-7/8" Kooks or American Speed headers, then drop to a 240/248 XE-R on a 114 LSA camshaft or similar.

2C5S made great power with a small cam and 1 3/4 LT's.

See above. My cam is 14 and 22 degrees smaller than yours and I make the same HP. Sometimes less really is more.

Run 1 is big cam and 12:1 compression. Dropped compression to 11:3 and took 6 degrees of overlap out of the cam - added 5 degrees of timing - and made more power and infinitely better drivability. Also added WCCH Stage 2 heads to replace the stock L92's. The great majority of the increase was from dropping compression to add timing and going with the smaller cam.

With ported heads and low compression? I think not

I agree with what Jake said

I just noticed I said American Speed. They make fine SBC engines (though I noticed they are doing 800HP LS7s now for the Ultima GTR... hmm). If you don't know what the Ultima GTR is... go Google it. It's pure awesome.

Anyway, I meant to say American Racing. They make fine headers.
