avg dyno numbers for z28?

Default avg dyno numbers for z28?

I got my car tuned last night made 277whp
Not sure on tq numbers cause of the spark pick up on our dynojet

98 z28 a4 2.73 gear
Mods are mac header and ory, magnaflow catback, whisper lid k&n filter, maf screen and emissions & egr junk removed
Hp tuner
Is the whp normal, low, or average?

a little on the low side, stock a4s make from 270-305rwhp stock. How is your A/F? Maybe you need new plugs, fuel filter, or something simple like that.

My 01 made 327 hp & 349 tq with SLP lid and loudmouth catback only - on a dynojet. No tune, no headers. The 01-02s do have the LS6 intake. Your automatic will consume a little more power than my M6 but I'm thinking your converter wasn't locked. What I've read, it's harder to get true numbers with the A4.

My car made 290 with similar mods. Don't get too caught up in the numbers, get it to the track and see how it runs. Mine ran 13.12 with street tires and ASR on. With some slicks it probably would have put some of the dyno queens on here to shame.

Dude dynos are for bench racers and they all can be setup to read differently. Take it to the track or g-tech it. I had my my 383 LT-1 on a guys dyno said it was making 350 whp. Went out and raced an 01 ta that was over 600 lift cam, hooker lt's, 4.10's, the rest of the bolt ons. We were close to 120 then I pulled, but he had 4.10 I had 3.42 gears. His car made 380 on a mustang dyno and ran low 12's on the street. Does that make sense? That told me dynos are for tuning and half of these shops use them as a marketing tool to sell performance packages. They can tweek them to read different. Take it for what its worth...

Also, if the dyno techs want to make you feel good or bad, they can adjust temperature and altitude and give or take away 8 hp.

Like I wrote in my previous post, I don't know how an A4 works at open throttle in 3rd. I don't think you'll get a lock up on the TC at WOT so I don't see how you can get true numbers.

Since you have some base numbers, think about a g-tech. I can tell you that my 327 hp shows up as 265 net on the g-tech. I added LS6 H/C and how have around 290. It's all relative so like they're saying, don't get caught up in the numbers.
