Default 408 L92 power estimates

I am currently building an iron 408 and have seen #s anywhere from 430hp to 540hp and was just wanting some guestimates on my setup.

Iron 408
Eagle 4.000" crank, 6.125" H-beam rods, Mahle -12cc pistons
L92 heads ( with minor port work) milled .030
Livernois Stage 3 L92 cam 242 248 610 618 114LSA
Through an M6 and 3:42s

Should be a little higher since its a M6.

Gave you a guess on yours! Both of you guys cams may need more exhaust duration. We'll see what happens. L92's are still causing headaches. They don't want to follow the rules.

i'll say 480-490 or so also. it seems very tricky on these heads to nail down the right combination.

I'll guess 490rwhp. Keep us posted on what you get. I am running the exact same cam in my 413 LS2 L92 setup. I should have results on Saturday when the car goes in for a full dyno tune.

It depends on the dyno, but I know livernois made almost 520 RWHP on a 404 w/ their ported L92 heads, and a WAY smaller cam then that (i will see if I can get anyone to give me the specs). I guess only time will tell.

Thanks for the input guys. I am really wanting the CR at about 11:1 but i am afraid of taking more off of the heads or shortening the deck height and then running into PTV clearence issues. shorter head gaskets, different pistons? any suggestions as to how i could bring the CR up because i know 10.5:1 is a little low.

I say 470rwhp with just what you listed.
if you have full exhaust, Fast 90 tb90, and 408 motor, L92 heads, M6 and tuned, I say 510+ rwhp...

also I'd want the CR to be lower than 11:1 in case you wanna do s/c later on... keep that below 10.5 or even 10 if you can, that way you can safely do at least 6-7# on the s/c.

Great advice except the FAST intake won't even fit on L92 heads.

I know livernois is going to be testing a modified ls7 intake soon to see what kind of improvements can be had over the l76 intake. They also are working with FAST to get a manifold developed

I'm not in California, but I am a little disappointed in my 402/L92 setup.

451 RWHP/414 RWTQ. I was hoping for about 460-480 RWTQ, but I'm still working on it. I'd love to see a better intake.

Yeah i have full boltons including pulley, 90mm TB, and full exhaust with 3.42 gears. I am afraid that my 1 3/4" headers are going to hurt the power a little but i guess we'll find out whenever i get together.
