Its all about traction and mastering your setup. His setup is new and maybe he didn't hook too well. Give him time, he will improve upon his initial times.

Says he hooked...

What does that have to do w/ the trap anyways?

Your mph was at the same DA as his?
You're almost 200 lbs. lighter?
My old hyd. H/C 346 trapped 124 NA @ 3780#'s.... so looks to me like your 118.90 trap sucks too-

I don't sugar coat either.

Ok you got a point. He did hook, and hook well. I'd kill for that 60 time. At any rate being 90*'s for his runs didn't help. He will run better in cooler temps. Guaranteed. I'd love a 1.6xx 60 time.

As far as low trap, my trap is very low for my power. I hit the rev limiter twice and it killed my trap. I'd like to know if his transmission is shifting at the proper rpms. Might need to have his shift points reprogrammed. I know my boy Whplash had some issues. His 4l65e shifted at 6900 out of 1st into 2nd and fell on its face going into 3rd at 5800 if memory serves. Who knows, let him get some more runs in before you call his new setup JUNK.

Neat that you don't sugarcoat either, but your logic doesn't apply to my car, and your MPH only reinforces my point in this thread.

My car runs what it should, ie, a 400rwhp setup which basically equates to a budget shortblock with OK LT1 castings and not too big of a cam. Mail order tune, stock throttle body.. it does what it should and it does what I paid for. So my MPH may "suck" compared to 124... but it runs what it should.

DA was ~1000' when I ran... and I don't know where all these heavy *** f-bodies are coming from these days.. especially ones with lightened components...

So.. do you work for Vengeance?

LMFAO!!!! The guy comes in here and shows his LOCKED #s and has a few shakedown passes in the middle of summer and everyone is jumping on him like a pack of wolves..... Does anyone remember the days of DIALING IN A COMBO..?!??!?! LMFAO!!!

Anyone besides me notice the 3700lb race weight? 90* air? **** 3800 stall? 3:42 rear? FIRST PASSES WITH THE NEW COMBO? DA? Ill be the first to tell you the VIndicator works well with 4000PLUS converter...

Leo, what were your unlocked #s?? Maybe this will help some of the internet racers compare to their respective times...

FWIW, I have literally zero interest in this motor... I sold Leo a camshaft... He built his combo and tuned it.... I just love to see how much **** can be talked without looking at the FACTS...

VH5150.... Ive got a "special" for you.... stop by the shop someday know it all...

My logic may be closer than you think.

Don't beat around the bush then... speak your mind on this logic..

I saw the "facts".. and i still think it's silly to tell someone GREAT NUMBERS when they're not....

Fact is the numbers I posted for myself are shakedown numbers as well.

oh noes i rocked the internet boat

Great set up. I'd love to see what it does with a big *** converter and a better set of gears. I could see low 11's it that car with the weight.

Good luck buddy!

My logic is neither here nor there.

You may not know all the facts.

I did not say "GREAT NUMBERS". I said "congrats on the new found power".....

He said he was "very very pleased", and that is ALL that matters.

IMHO, far be it from you to dis his efforts/results/hard earned money spent.

You came off like a TOOL.

So.... I'll end my participation in this thread by congratulating you on what you believe is your superior combo

Btw.... you ain't "rocked" ****-

No, I came off as a dick.. which I kinda am.

And as to "far be it from me to dis.. etc."... if ya can't take some criticism (whether it be harsh or light-hearted) in this game, then get out the kitchen...

Everyone gets their damn panties in a bunch....

Congrats on the new setup. I'm also going with a similar setup as you. I can't wait to get that thing running.

Wow you my friend are a jackass, but you are LT1 guy on a LS1 site so I am sure you are going to try to discredit anything you can!

Maybe you should ask questions before you make dick head comments?

Ron hit it on the head when he said I am still tuning the car in. I have a sloppy, loose 3800 Vigilante converter, they are known to not MPH very well.

The car was shifting at 5900 RPM when I got to the track, I changed the tune to have the car shift at 6700 and picked up 4 MPH. I PICKED UP 4 MPH WITH 1 UPLOAD, CHANGING ONLY 1 THING...IMAGINE WHAT I CAN DO WITH A WEEK WORTH OF TUNING?
Not to mention the 8,000 gorillas I had for wheels on the car, that is alot of rotating mass that will hinder MPH.

I wanted a car that I can drive everyday and run good. I got that. The car is a pig and in full street trim, driven an hour to the track, cooled only for the time it took me to let air out of the tires and adjust the shocks. **** I still even had the air filter in.

I have the car in the air now taking the rear end out, putting the 9" in. I hope to have it back together by the end of the weekend (Only have maybe half of Sunday to work on it) and have some new numbers by the end of next week.

FWIW, I called Ron and told him what I was doing, he sold me a cam (and ported intake). I ran with the rest of the ideas on putting everything else together. Quit hating on the guy. His combos make power....deal with it.

As I said before Leo. I am sure your Converter is hurting you & also the 3.42s are not that great either. I bet with a PT4000 & 4.10s in that 9inch & a 150 shot you can hit 10.70 N/A all day & on the spray High 9s

I was more let down about the trap speed more then anything. The traps Speed does seem very low for the mods.

But then again, The converter is not putting that car in its powerband & the gears are hurting it as well.

Also guys. 1.69 60ft is not good for any automatic. I bust off 1.56 60fts all day & ran 7.26 @ 94 on 17inch Drag Radials

If he drops that 60ft down to a low 1.5 60ft he will be at easy 7.0 in the 1/8 mile.

My biggest concern again. IS HIS TRAP SPEED. It does not reflect his RWHP

Also my car should be out here at the end of the month or begining of next month & I am running the exact same combo with a couple of different changes

My Combo consists of

TFS 215 Heads
7.7 Pushrods
Ported FAST90/90
42lb injectors
Vinticator Cam
Harlan Sharp Rocker 1.7
KOOKS 1 7/8 Long Tube Headers
Texas Speed True Dual 3inch Exhaust
PT4000 Converter
12 Bolt 4.10 Gears
150 dry Shot
Mickey Thompson 17 Drag Radials on TTIIs
Bogarts up front
BMR K-Member
BMR A-Arms
Battery moved to the back

I am hoping for
6.80 N/A on motor & 6.30 on the spray. I will still have Full Weight with AC also & will run my 17s up front for the street.

It will be good to see how both our cars come along Leo this year.

Seb
