454 LSX 252/256 Cam dyno
First and foremost I designed this setup to reliable, not **** the neighbors pass noise emissions , and be extremely easy to drive, meaning my mother could drive it to the store. So I choose the LSX for reliability, the clutch for driveabilty, exhaust for emissions and noise control, cam for drivabilty and Heads because they were big bore heads from my all bore 388 motor (in other words I saved some money here.)
The heads are TEA 317 STage III paris ports, there was a thread a year a so ago comparing them to AFR 225's.
The 1 7/8 kooks have a catted Y pipe and go into a slp dual dual.
I'm still running the 85mm maf with a fast toys 85mm lid, in fact it has a the stock bellows squeeze over it probably not good for power...
Car drives like a well tuned 230 duration cam car, I can start it at 5:30am and let it warm up without pissing the neighbors off. Just passed Oregon emissions with really is just an ODBII and noise test. Very easy to drive only problem it has is parking lots in 2nd gear. 6th it cruises at 50mph+ with little to no surge. Idles at 850 rpm
Rear has 3.89 gears which with the 388 didn't seem like enough but with this setup seems perfect.
Driving with Nitto drag radials is fun, you can't really go WOT under 60 mph without it spinning and getting violent. 65-120mph runs are insane. Torque is really everywhere.....
Here is a thread with pics of the car as well as link to pictures of the motor going together and in...

next time you go to the dyno, tell Tom i said hey
and if you're still in the same place.. i'm sure your neighbors are used to the noise

The tracks are closed her in the NW for the winter. I will try next spring, low speed traction is pretty tough, but on the highway it pulls like crazy. I get on it at 70 then look down and I'm doing 135.
I took the roll bar out to make a "driver" out of it. Custom chromoly roll bar came too close to passenger head, if I ever got in a wreck it would not be pretty if I had a passenger. Thinking about having a custom one that may technically not be up to spec but if the track is just looking for roll bar might get through??

Love the table top torque Bob. Your power is tremendous, especially for a setup that was designed as a DD. This is a very well engineered package. Thank you for including me in your build!

Thanks for designing the "brains" Patrick and answering all my questions and concerns. I am pretty happy considering my original goals was a very driver friendly 550rwhp 500rwtq driver. I'm pretty sure on a dynojet I'd reach that goal.
