I think u might get about 10rwhp up top.IMO I had macs on my auto 2002 WS6 and wished I had longtubes. With this car in sig I have long tubes now and great tone and feel the trq up top.

My friend gained 13 RWHP, Macs to Kooks. And it will sound better too.

We went from some mid lengths on an 04 GTO to some Kooks longtube 1 7/8" primary and the car picked up a solid 10-15 throughout the powerband...

We have similar setups, and I personally wouldn't go through the money or trouble to swap my macs for long tubes. It's your call dude.

^It all comes down to the money. For 13 rwhp I'd do it, but if you're only gonna see 5 or 6 then no way.

how bad do you want that 10-15 rwhp??? Honestly, you could sell the macs and then get some lts for 400+dollars.

they work pretty well. you might see a tenth and a mph from switching. scavenging might look like a great deal on paper but like communism it falls short in the real world. now on a stroker i would go with anything with larger primaries, but i got my macs for 200 bucks and so far ive trapped 111mph with that and a hotcam with a tci ssf3800. first time out. ran a 12.4 with a 1.85 60' so its far from ideal

Do the midlengths only gain 5 hp over the stock manifolds? It seems like the long tubes are good for 17-22ish over the stockers, and everyone is gaining like 10-15 over the mid lengths...

The sound alone will be worth it. Period.

You can do the primary mod and collector mod to a set of MAC and all you'll gain from a LT is the midrange trq.
See ls1howto.com for details

Wow, that's an extremely impressive gain. Time to research the 1 7/8" headers...

Yep, sure did! I figured it'd pick up about 10-12hp, but didnt think it'd pick up that much torque.
I helped with the install, and he's right, for some reason the LT's were a lot easier to slide in and out compared to the mac's

I'd keep the MACs. You will only pick up around 5rwhp up top with LTs if you have done the collector mod and cleaned up the welds on the MACs. The LTs will make more TQ and mid-range, tho...
