I was giving a different perspective to the statement I quoted. But if you want to debate it, I could.

You state that you could mod a car to this level and beyond, but if you mod a car, you are acclimated to a certain power level and desire more. If you are not accustomed to this power level, a car like this could get out of control fairly easily.

How many threads are on LS1tech alone where someone lent a friend or family member their car and they lost control and crashed it? I have seen two in the past week. And we're talking about almost half the hp of the Viper.

People crash slow cars too. Modded or unmodded some people can't handle the power. Doesn't matter if it came off the showroom floor or someone pumps it up to that level. It's a Viper. It's supposed to be fast. It's not like they're putting that same hp into an Intrepid.

I wrecked my 99 Viper due to the power...Car had 450/500 SAE...The turque is what got me when attemting a hard launch at 50 mph during a battle...Car just went side ways...

My SRT10 has 500 rwt as well and this all most bit me doing the same thing at 55 mph...

Im really scared to race people..

They dont understand...The say..Well you have 470 rwhp and I have 470 rwhp..If I can take off from a 50 mph roll then why cant you??????

UMMMMM...Because I have 500 rwt at 4000 rpms VS your 425 rwt at 5000 rpms....So I wont do anything under 65 mph now as a start point...Not gonna die to win a race....

^Exactly, it doesn't take nearly as much power as the new viper has for a car to be dangerous in the wrong hands. If you're gonna say that 600 is too much to sell to the pubilc then you might as well say that 300 is too much also. The bottom line is that ANY car is dangerous with the wrong driver.

Hell if you underestimate a car even slow cars can bite you.

I work for an infiniti dealership and I took a kid out in an old G35 coupe to show him how it performs and he wanted to see how fast it was so I pull it out of the lot and punch it and powershift into third.. The thing got all sorts of sideways and swerved making the guardrail come closely into view. It turns out the cars alignment was WAYYY out of whack, and when giving it all 220whp that the car had, really made it a **** show..

Yeah, it'll only be a matter of time until we start seeing the modded numbers. Something tells me that we'll be quite impressed.

Great numbers, im very impressed with the new vipers...

that being said, i dont understand why you would buy a car that you are afraid to drive. if your afraid of 500rwtq at 4k maybe you shouldnt be driving that car?

At the expense of sounding like a dick, get some DRs or learn to drive.

I race my car on Nittos spraying on top of a stout heads/cam package. My torque on the juice is 615 at 3800, and was still 580 at 4500 last time I dyno'd it on a 100 shot. I've raced from 35-40 rolls and haven't had an issue, you just can't be a retard about it.

No doubt that those are really good numbers but just wondering why is a viper owner posting his numbers on a GM based forum?

So we'll know from a Viper guy how slow these cars are compared to the new Vettes.

We post all kinds of information on this site, GM based and non-GM based. Anyone who really loves and appreciates cars and racing is interested in any information they can get, whether it directly relates to their car or not. I post on the Ford website and some other websites, but I don't own one. They are just as enthusiastic about hearing about my car as I am to hear about theirs, and there are plenty of non-GM guys here, including mods, who don't own GM cars. We all love cars. It's very easy to skip a thread if you don't want to read about it, but not posting means that no one gets to see it, including those of us who might be interested, especially because we may line up next to them at some point in the future.

Im not scared of driving my viper..The SRT10's are actually pretty friendly compared to the GTS's and RT10's...

But after wrecking the viper when trying to acellerate hard at 50ish mph and then hitting a wall...totalling the car..And then nearly doing the same thing with my newer viper...Well Im scared to hit it hard at all in 2nd gear....

I had a mild H/C C5 putting down 380 rwhp..And then a stock gen 2 Viper putting down 410 rwhp..Should have felt around the same right with onlya 30 rwhp differance....No way.. the immediate tqe of the Viper would make the car spin out when making a left hand turn from a stop sign till you learned how to baby it..Almost wrecked it the first week...

But dont take my word for a Viper being scary as hell to floor in second gear at anything under 60ish mph..Go to www.wreckedexotics.com and see how many people experianced the same thing

^Agreed. If you don't want to read a post then just don't click on the link. There's no reason to be a fucktard about it.

Its all about learning to control it. If you look in the dyno graph in my sig I made 800+rwhp at 4500 rpms... it gets scary if you go WOT too long.

Why did you quote me? I don't have an issue driving my car. Or are you agreeing that he is a non-driving puss?
