Default Anyone running TFS heads and a 228R cam?

Just wanted to see what kind of #'s this combo is putting out.

If you have a similiar cam but not the 228R, then post your results as well. Also specify if you are running the 90/90 setup. I am running an LS6 intake and a 80mm throttle body.

ONLY POST IF YOU ARE RUNNING THE TFS HEADS though.

Cool. I was palnning on going with some 1.8 rockers, and the 90/90 setup which should bring my cam lift into your range. I am also going to run a vigilante stall, prob a 3200, so I should see your kind of #'s, especially if I lock the converter, maybe even 450+ locked.

I don't think I would run 1.8s with an aftermarket cam...most have aggressive ramp rates. Make sure you check with the shop or person you buy the cam from whether the 1.8s are OK or not.

We have done several TFS Headed combos with our VRX3 (226/228) with excellent results. 460+rwhp with insane power under the curve.

I'm wondering the same. Also what is the CC, valve size, and gasket thickness used to get those kind of numbers?

figure on 15-17% drivetrain loss through an M6 depending on the rear end. the TFS heads have potential to put out over 500rwhp, through a 228 cam i wouldnt expect more than 480's with stock cubes. Supporting mods make all the difference in how much the heads are gonna put out. To get the most out of them you'll need a ported fast 90/90 setup and 1 7/8's tubes. No obviously you dont NEED the 1 7/8's but your probably leaving peak 10hp on the table without them. the right rocker is also important as the new TFS design doesnt "require" rockers they are highly reccomended from what i understand. The 228 cam isnt going to wanna rev out as high as a larger duration but should still make awesome power under the curve. Average results seem to be in the 450whp range without much trouble.

Very intrested to see some dyno sheets with this set-up, can you post some? I've been looking at this exact combo. Thanks.

Its not Italy, but Md not all THAT bad! We have 6 racetracks within driving distance

Weve done as cast TFS stuff with some of our cams that size that made 450 on our Mustang dyno. For comparison sake my 430 hp cam only near 3500 lbs goes 10s at 126. I would say it would run the same at a stock weight, little more hp, little heavier. 415 at 3600+ has been 11.teens

Charleston, SC isn't too bad. i'm from California and really miss it. No one else has TFS with a mild cam near 228? I'd love to see more of these. I can run the LS6 intake with TFS, or PRC's and a FAST for the same price... That's assuming that I buy new rockers too.

TFS- $2300 or so, $350-400 rockers $2700
PRC's- $1200(5.3 2.5)-$1500(LS6 2.5), FAST 92 $1400 $2900 with LS6

That's not including head bolts, gaskets, and lifters.
