First trip to the dyno...

Just got the SS back from the shop after the cam swap and pulley install (I also just upgraded to the LS7 clutch...awesome), and I put down 389 rwhp @ 6200 rpm and 384 TQ @ 4600 rpm. The car feels very strong down low and also exhibits a noticeable gain up top (it isn't having any trouble spinning through 2nd gear on cool pavement).
What do you guys think about my numbers? Honestly, I was expecting a bit more given the number of bolt ons I have....nonetheless, I am pleased because I love the way the car feels.
I'm not sure exactly what factors would effect the numbers, however here's some more info about the conditions: Dyno Jet dyno in the greater Atlanta area (elevation roughly 950 ft above sea level), 48.70* F (temp), 28.94 in-Hg, Humidity = 34% and SAE 0.98. You guys think the conditions had any significant effect on the numbers?

Cool deal. I guess if I want it to look like a dyno queen (as well as being pretty quick on the road) I should just slap a 150 shot on there and smile at the gaudy numbers! HAHA!
As for the cam, I was hoping to go "middle of the road".....I need the car to have good street manners, make moderate power up top and a ton of it under the curve. Fortunately, I achieved those goals with this cam.

Not to change the subject of my original post, however do you guys think it would be worthwhile to get the stock heads ported to compliment the other mods? I imagine since I have a ton of other supporting mods, I might be able to squeeze a good 15 rwhp out of a good porting job and tune.

389/384 sounds right on for that cam on a dynojet. I would be pleased with those numbers. Get it to the track and I bet you'll be very pleased.
BTW, if they are SAE corrected numbers, the weather conditions don't matter; that's the point of correcting the numbers, to figure out the variables of weather conditions and give a standard reading.

Thanks for the posts guys. I'm pleased with the numbers, however I guess I was hoping for 400 rwhp. That being said, I'm very happy with my cam choice (as I wanted to go as aggressive as possible while still having good driveability and plenty of power down low). I probably could've gone much bigger with the cam and had peak HP #'s over 400, however I didn't want to trade off street manners and low to mid-range torque for a few extra HP.
As for the intake, the original owner installed the Weiand intake and sold the LS6 intake, so unfortunately slapping the stock one back on isn't an option for me. I've often been curious as to whether or not that Weiand intake was a worthwhile mod for a car that already had the LS6 intake. I would've spent my $500 differently!

Nice numbers man. The important thing is that you are happy with it. Numbers really don't matter unless you are heading out to 2F2F races lol. Take it to the track and come back with a smile on your face.

To the best of my knowledge my cutout was about 80% open (which is typically where I leave it). The electic control is in the ash tray and I doubt the guys knew that it needed to be open any further....maybe there was still another HP or two that I could've got out of it! HAHA!
The car feels very strong just from running around on the highway, so I am quite pleased.
