Just finished a top end project on my 2001 vert. Mods are as follows:
Trick Flow 215s milled to 59cc
Yella Terra Ultra Lites
Comp 236/238 .601/.605
AST underdrive pulley
Ported FAST 90
Ported LS2 TB
Yella Terra Ultra Lites
Comp 236/238 .601/.605
AST underdrive pulley
Ported FAST 90
Ported LS2 TB
I already had LG streets & Blackwing CAI
All of the above was spec'd and ordered through Vengeance Racing; including the porting of the manifold and TB. I did the installation myself. Dyno tune was done at Speed Inc. Final numbers are pretty impressive:
468 RWHP 413 RWTQ.
468 RWHP 413 RWTQ.
I can't say enough about the support and service from Vengeance Ron delivers what he promises! If you are looking for a tune in the Chicago area, check out Speed Inc

This is a VRX5, not a Vindicator.. Less compression/less camshaft/not all of the bolt ons/full exhaust..... 490 is hard to do, but it can be done
I think 470 with customer installed parts/tuning by another shop/not all bolt ons/medium sized cam isnt too shabby ....

I think all mod. to wild cams wait until 3000 RPMs to make significant power... Unless you are running a blower, I have not seen huge 2000 RPM numbers from any set ups. Just my thoughts...good power. What is the deal though nobody ever does the VRX4 and TFS 215s? That is a set up I would like to see. I almost bought that cam and then blew my motor.

Where these the cast heads? Using cats? catback?
I just used a little bit smaller cam in my own z06 with harland sharp rockers, hi flow cats, and the stock catback make 494rwhp 430 torque. I used the CNC 215's though. I love those heads.

I just installed one of these cams for a customer. It is a bolt on 99 Trans Am A4. The car started and held a damn good idle for a stock tune after the install. Waiting to get the car to the dyno, I will be sure to post numbers.

Wow, nice results, Ron (and OP). I was so close to buying a set of Trickflow heads and Vengeance cam a couple weeks ago.......then I bought a Les Paul instead.
Maybe later this year or next year.
Who needs torque BELOW 3000 RPMs? Or even 3500 for that matter? You're gonna kill your clutch going WOT that low with a ton of torque, and even if it makes good torque down there, why do you need it there when you can just downshift and make GOBS more torque and horsepower in a lower gear (as compared to BELOW 3000 RPMs anyways)?
Literally just curious.
