Default TFS 235cc Head results

The test made a few chages but still shows how the heads shined.

Car is a Z28 wetsleeve 427ci,M6 with a D1 Procharger (10lbs)

Before #'s are ported 241 heads by a well known porter (2.10/1.60 valves) 60 cc combustion chambers and a Crane 230/240 .6xx lift duration Cam.

After is the TFS 235cc heads with 70cc combustion chambers and a 228/234 Cam.

Only the H/C was changed with the tune.Keep in mind with the TFS we dropped alot of compression too but it still had a great gain.

Smaller cam, less compression, and more power. Can't argue with that. Nice results, congrats.

so I take it this was the same boost level? Or maybe you actually lost boost since the heads flow more? I take it the same pulleys were used. Nice gain!

Was it at 10lbs both times? If so, impressive!

Great results Don (as usual). You basically can have your cake and eat it with that combo. Well done.

The only thing changed was the H/C.Blower pulley size was the same.I'd say boost stayed at the 10-11lbs at peak. The car drives like stock with 16inches of vacuum at 850rpm idle. The customer just wanted a dead reliable, stock driving car with power. The car has Cats and a 3" Magnaflow exhaust too.True duals would push alot more power but we like the quiet car.

The old heads are for sale for $800.

Excellent results

This simply eliminates the myth that good heads don't matter with forced induction

Here is probly what the graph would look like with a free flowing exhaust. This setup is extremely close with timing up top pulled to 12 degree's (for the owners sake) but the same boost levels and free flowing exhaust.

We've always found the right heads help alot.I would rather run less boost with a more efficient setup to make the power instead of adding alot of boost to make power.

If these heads were milled to raise compression and alittle bigger Cam we probly would of made 60-100rwhp more.

Wow, impressive gains for dropping cam size and compression. How are the street manners with this car?

The customer should be picking it up next week. For the record he hasn't driven the car in almost 4 years. The shop that originally did the work really screwed up the car to the point it would break down every 40 miles. We redid alot of stuff like all wiring under the hood to get it dead reliable.I'm sure he's going to love it now.
