Default 432.3/402 with a Blown Head Gasket

So, in December I went ot the tuner to get my setup tuned... Toasted Trans

Now a couple months later, trans issue is fixed and everything looks good. Tuner starts having the worst time tuning the car, he can't get it to idle...Fried MAF, ok so we decide to do a speed density tune (which basically deletes the MAF? right?) then he does pull #1 293/362, no big deal only the first pull. Pull #2 423/400 WOO WHO but let's see more, I am expecting closer to 450. So they are messing with the tuning and then they bust out the temp gun??? Start revving the engine, and do a pull then call me up and tell me that the heads are leaking coolant and during the pull the headers are 175 degrees and the exhaust temps are like 200 degrees, first thing in my mind is O BOY. He thinks it's a blown head gasket so I let him keep the car to check it out. The best pull was 432.2 rwhp/402 rwtq. You think it will make much more?

Nice numbers man, expecially on a A4. If it does make more awesome but if not those are stout numbers still.

I would be pretty happy considering you made that through a Stalled A4. Do you have a U/D pully and Meziere EWP ?? Those would give you another 10-15 rwhp, also would boost your highway gas mileage. You should consider going with a Ported 90mm FAST, should be able to pick one up cheap soon (used) due to the 92 mm FAST coming out. You should pick up another 15 rwhp with the ported fast. All that adds up to 460 rwhp through a stalled A4. Just something to think about. Good luck.

I have an ASP UD Pulley, Stock water pump and LS6 Intake... Ported FAST 90 setup should maybe be around this summer, depending on money. But I am very pleased with the results, and I love the torque number... I'll post the new graph after the re-tune

Uhh I'd stop running it if you got a blown head gasket... could do more damage. But good numbers.

I am wondering the same thing. If they think there is a coolant leak why not check the compression.

The car is sitting in the shop definately not being driven. I'm no expert but he was telling me that he thinks that coolant was getting into the motor, therefore the reason for the low temps. I'm not sure that those numbers were exact but they were for sure that low...

I'm wondering if those #'s are bogus..1. At an idle, the temps could easily be 3 X those numbers.
2. How did he "measure" the gas temp? Thermocouple in header pipes?
Time for a "second opinion".....

They had a temp gun on the headers, and he plugged in something where the front O2's usually are on the headers..
