Default How much do you loose on the dyno with

I have a 99 ss With Cam, Ls6 intake, Lid, K&n filter, Longtubes, 3" exhuast, bullets, Ac delete, Egr delete, throttle body free mods, greentop 42lb injectors(67% maxed out), Converted to th350, w/ Yank 4000 stall, 4:10 gears, Weld prostars. The Cam is a 242/242 duration 608/608 Lift, with matching heads. Now I Dynoed it today and it made 334 hp, 295 torque. My tuner said the numbers really mean nothing and will seem low because of the tranny and stall. The car runs its ***** off so no doubt do I have way more than the dyno sheets show. but how much off is it? The car is a mid 11 car in the quarter. it went 7.0 in the eighth before the gears, intake, rebuilt tranny, tune, and throttle body.

TH350's, high stalls and those gears are bad for dyno #'s, no doubt. I would guess anywhere up to 50hp off from having a 4L60, 3200 stall and 3:73's.

I wouldn't worry about dyno #'s in a car set-up like yours. Your car is set-up for the track.

The numbers dont really bother me I was just wondering how much you loose. I kinda like the fact that its a mid 11 car with only 334 hp(full wieght)...haha

wait, you say it went a 7.0x in the 1/8th mile? thats alot faster than mid 11's in my book. My car went 7.333 @ 93.71 in the 1/8th and an 11.53 on the breaks (was in eliminations, prolly wooda gone about a 49') and the previous run it trapped 118.82 mph. What are your incrementals.. and btw my rwhp was 374.

I read the 1st post as if he never run the 1/4 .. seem's like speculation based on his 1/8 times. You're right though .. if he's running 7.0's in the 8th, he's being very conservative with his 1/4 estimate.

I have not ran it in the 1/4 mile yet. We were just guessing it would run mid 11's. I'm going to try to run it this weekend if I can make time. Its top speed is about 115mph, 4:10 gears and 26" tall tires, we are only afraid of it topping out before the quarter mile. All we can doa t this point is run it and make adjustments from there. It is setup for 1/8th mile.

7.03 in the 1/8 @ 99 mph for me is a 10.96 @ 125 in the 1/4. You'll run out of gear for sure if its good to 115 mph only.

it hit the rev limiter at 115mph on the dyno in final gear.

Where do you shift at?

I shift at 7100, but I'm on a 28" tire w/ 4.11's. I cross at 7k in 3rd, th350 tranny w/ 4800 stall.

I shift about 6600...my limiter is set to 6800. I think I may need to get som 28" tires. and my stall is only 4000 under a th350...anything after 6700 the chart starts dropping

If you are running 7.0x in the 1/8 you will be running low 11's in the quarter unless you car is just a dog on the top end which it does not sound like it is. I would be willing to bet your crank HP is more like 480 or so (if in M6 RWHP would have to be in the 420s at least). I had a friend with 440rwhp running ET Streets and ran 7.27@ 99 in 1/8th and 11.58 @122 in the 1/4. So with 7.0s you may have a little more than him or about the same and just ET better. His car was as consistent as any M6 I have ever seen...

tires would help in the 1/4. You said 7.0 before a bunch of new mods you did. How much faster do you think it is now? few tenths in the 1/8?

I honestly couldnt tell you how much faster it is now...its been a while since I've driven it(maybe early december 07). til yesterday with the tune. I can definitely feel the difference with the dyno tune being finished now. since Decemeber I put Ls6 intake, throttlebody mods, greentop injectors, Built Th350(I already had the stall), 4:10 gears, and a Dyno tune. and thats where I am now. I also have m/t et street radials on it and before I had Hoosier slicks. The et street radials are so much better.

My car dyno'ed 424rwhp with a th350 and 3600 nitrous converter. It ran 6.9 and 10.9 @ 121 or 122mph.

It's 6800. Quit beating your self up over the numbers it made. Run it at the track and if it's slow there, then beat yourself up.

haha I'm not beating myself up, I just wondered how much is lost. and believe me after I run it if its slow I may beat myself up then. thanks for all of your help Glen, I really appreciate it...it doesnt look like I will make it to the track this weekend. but I'll call you and let you know. psss...sell me your ss

His 424hp #'s are N/A.

(Correct me if I'm wrong *****) .. I believe his 1/8th is 6.4, on a 150 shot.

I took it to the track and it went 11.862 @ 113.89mph, my eight mile was 7.539...my r/t was .486(fell asleep)
