Very Low Numbers G5X4 Cam Only
Well To start i put down 387 Hp 360 tq.. 2002 z28. ASP pulley, ported tb, yank ss4000, slp lid, hooker long tubes through a 4" mufflex/spintec single exit. Im going to true duals all the way to the back and then getting it re dynode. I was told by many that the 4" is a power robber especially that spintec muff. My buddy took his 4" and swapped for an x pipe setup and put down another 26whp. I was there so no exaggeration i even helped install the x pipe on the dyno. Car feels phenomenal on the street. But i was wondering do u guys think this power is normal considering people with smaller cams are putting down more power. I know bigger isnt always better but i was hoping for atleast 400whp. I heard this cam likes to be dumped out the headers so thats why my power might be low. I know the tune is perfect Speed inc. invested a good amount of time in the car. But im just kinda sad ya know!

Thats what a lot of people are telling me. I guess i just need to wait for a good track day to see what my car really has. It just kinda sucks you see so many people with around the same setup putting down 413 and that. I guess my mood is down cuz its april here in chicago and were still getting snow. it literally just hailed for 5 minutes, 20 minutes ago. This area sucks!

Why do people say this? Yes it matters, its like saying you have a UGLY *** girlfriend, but she ***** good. If you pay for a certain range of numbers/times your expecting and you only get 1/2 of what you wanted, then it isn't OKAY. Sure track times are the main thing, but a piece of paper with numbers on it is way more than just a piece of paper, its bragging rights and being proud of what you put together.

Those are not really bad #'s with that big of a stall.
Good luck on your combo.

Those are some good numbers, but having a stalled A4 will definitelty keep the numbers lower, and yes they tune it locked. Your exhaust might be holding back some power, and if you have the money switching to a 90/90 set up will gain some power as well.

Speed has a dynojet dyno. With those numbers as far as I am concerned those are damn low for a big cam. my buddy with a G5x3 cam put down over 400rwhp on the same dyno, M6. The auto does hurt it to a certain point. My other friend with a TR224/224 cam and 3600 stall put down a little over 380rwhp on that dyno. Every car is different.
I say keep the exhaust you have on it, put on some electric cutouts for the track. Invest in a Fast 90/90 setup and get it some heads. I believe that the stock heads with that cam is holding alot of power back. Take the car to the track and see what mph pulls.

A4 + big stall = low dyno numbers. Lots of people have already posted this. I have to agree. Get your true duals and go back. I'm sure you'll be doing better if the motor can exhale better. What intake are you using ?? A ported 90 or even the 92 would help out quite a bit.

I know she is going to want more out of her new LSX motor when it gets here too; but I am sure she will be happy with the track times...
Ironically her car did 385/386 cam-only (no UD pulley, LS6 intake/PP TB) with a MTI X1...
