Well no matter what, a better spring is overall better. I don't want to seam like I am arguing that point. I am just saying that an upgrade is not really worth it unless you are upgrading the cam too. You will not see noticeable gains unless you rev it past 6k. But if you are changing the springs, you would be stupid to not do the cam too. Cam swap is faster and easier than spring swap. And you would have to pull the covers and rockers to do the cam later on anyhow.

What proper bolt ons? If that's the power he's looking for, why do anything else? There is no such thing as a "proper" bolt on for a maggie. If he decides he wants more then he can do more.

I know of a turbo ls1 that chased his tail with a valve flutter over 7 psi of boost. this was with patriot gold springs. he shimmed them to 1.75 installed hight and no more flutter at 6500 rpms as it was not letting him above 5600 before. he is now running 14 psi and no valve flutter.

Obviously if he put down the numbers that he did. Those are damn good numbers for nothing else but the kit so I would say that the stock exhaust is efficent.

Yes, people do it all the time. The maggie was designed to be a bolt on and go supercharger.

I think we can all agree that it'd make more power with an exhaust upgrade. That being said, there are no preordained bolt-ons needs for a blower.

Do no not waste money on springs unless you are doing a cam swap.
Bad, you are arguing a lost cause, I have experienced float on a SC setup and stock springs. Stock LS1 springs can float (if tired) on just a stock cam.
I cured me float by adding 02 LS6 springs/

Shortcuts and unnecessary savings I never understand. 6000+$ on a maggie and wimp on a 100$ set of springs and a bit of sweat

Why waste money on springs when the piston is more than happy to help push the valves closed.

Wow! some of you ladies need to calm down. No one said I was finished with the car. I am planning a forged motor with heads,cam........ but for the time being it was fun to see how much the blower would make all by itself.

Thanks for the comments.

I'll have to say that going with new springs on any boosted car is a good idea. I've seen it on everything from LS1s, to Supras, to Fords. No theory needed when the real world says better springs + boost = more power.

Also, headers are not a requirement for the Eaton blower on the LS1. It usually adds little to nothing. Save your money for a meth kit.
