Default PRC 5.3 TR224 Results....

So I finally had my car dyno'd after 4 months of waiting after my H/C swap. I have a 98 6-speed with PRC 2.5 5.3's and a TR224 on a 114 LSA, LS6 intake, ported TB, 42lb injectors, and all supporting bolt-ons. Also have a TSP catted-Y with Pacesetter LT's and a dual dual catback. I did a best of 395/375 after 9 pulls. I was hoping for a little more but guess I can't be disappointed. Does this sound about right???? Any ideas where I could gain some more power? I was thinking maybe cutouts??

Thanks for your input.

no dyno queen, but doesn't seem far off to me with the mods

stock rearend?

stock gear?

if you are looking for a bit more power remove the cats, get a cutout & I'm sure you would see 10-20 rwhp

Yes, stock rear and stock gearing. Any ideas on what I would gain with a ported fast 90/90?

I would think it would be higher with heads. Every dyno is different but one car that I tuned put down 388 cam only with 4.10's and 18" wheels with the 224 cam.

You need a good tune.

yes..all dyno's differ and that's why I didn't say it is too low

We have had a few on our dyno here and there that are 20-30 lower then norm with a particular combo, but they run as good if not better then the higher dyno cars at times.

did you pre-dyno the car? We try to do this a lot more now since some just start lower, but the gains are all the same at the end of the day.

I would say maybe 10ish with a 90/90 with this milder combo.

get it to the track and see how it does

Your setup is very close to mine. I have 4 year old Patriot 5.3's and I would think the PRC 5.3's would blow them out of the water. Numbers are in sig...

I would figure 415-430rwhp with those mods. So yea Id say its low. If it were me, I would compare it to another dyno just to see how it compares.

try putting on a 85mm MAF and see what that will gain. 2004 Z06 MAF or a SLP MAF

With cats & through the exhaust it's still a little bit lower than I would guess. What compression did you set it up with? You might consider putting a cut out on it just to see where she's at with a good exhaust.

What kind of air fuel & timing did she have?

That definitely seems low. I have pretty much the exact setup as you only in an A4 and I made 380 with a bad transmission.

Every dyno is different like was said above. I would not be too concerned as you are in the ball park of where you should be.

Berore #'s would be good to know. They do seem low. I did 38X rwhp/370rwtq with the TR224 & bolt on's. 430rwhp/403rwtq after the AFR 205's.

Very low #'s. I just dyno'd my cam only SS. TR224 and full bolt on, stock ls6 intake...car made 390hp/380tq. With those heads I would expect to be around 425rwhp/395tq.

Im going to take the car to get dyno'd again. This time ill take off the 19 inch c6's with runflats and run the car cool. The 395 was after 9 runs on the dyno, so I think I might have lost some power with the heat. I'll keep everyone posted on the new numbers

Good luck bro. Look at it this way, at least you already have a nice set of heads. If you ever swap out to a bigger cam you've got the hard part done. Like everyone has said, it does seem low. How does it drive? Have you considered another tuner?

It could be that the dyno is running low numbers too,

I've been on different dyno's and my lowest is 364HP/362ft/lb

On another dyno was is 372HP 370ft/lb.

And just after the cam install and tuned are the numbers in the sig.
