98 LS1 first time Dyno Tuned
Brandon
Thanks for your help
Im going back in for another dyno tune tomorrow now that I have added a ported TB, 30# injectors, muffler and a n2o kit.
The numbers seem good though from my experience with a lot of other cars. It all boils down to how much time your tuner is willing to put in. If all he does is 4-5 pulls and then your done, you didnt get what you paid for (unless you paid $100) My car literally took like 4 hours to get spot on, but it was tuned right out to the edge for max power.

I re-tuned yesterday and made 345rwhp / 360 rwtq on a much safer and less aggressive tune. I was pinging in certain situations because I made the last tune way to aggressive.
On this tune, we pulled timing way back and added a bit of fuel throughout the entire rpm range. Purrs like a kitten now, its a lot smoother and it is much safer.
Also did a nitrous only tune that I can shoot when I go to the track. On an almost empty bottle, (3 lbs of n2o) and 36 jets on the 5177 NOS dry kit, the car made 425rwhp and 528rwtq.
The car feels better than ever, and once I get the QTP longtubes on, I will be going back for another round!

So back to the OP, I made this power through manifolds and cats with minimal bolt ons. I really think that your tuner left a ton of power on the table with your setup. You should be at least 10-20hp more in my opinion. But then again, thats just me and my experience talking. YMMV as always.
