This car cruises very nicely. This is not a huge cam. Very low 230's intake duration.

Nice going fellas. I went with TFS heads and my car is stronger than ever.

This thread needs to stay focused on the OP's OUTSTANDING outcome from his obviously well thought out combo. Congrats on cracking the 500 rwhp club, and no complaints on the 455 rwtq either. Makes me wish I had the TFS 215's but the AFR 205's aren't too shabby.

Now lets get some more details bro, when numbers like yours get posted, we want details. Again congrats !!!
Great numbers man!!!Its always great to see some great results with not a huge compression motor and cam...Makes things a little easier on the motor...

I'm sure you didn't get the TFS's allngn, since the boys over at LG don't carry them since you seem to
Sorry, you asked for it...

Actually Kevin, if the TFS 215's had been an option at the time I would've probably went that direction, however the afr 205's had so many already proven performers that it seemed like the best choice at the time. Who's to say that a simple head swap, my afr's for a set of TFS 215's would make a big difference on my setup. I'd hope that it would but will never know unless someone wants to sponsor the swap. LG Motorsports can get whatever heads a customer wants but they do push the AFRs due to the circumstance of business.

BTW when did TFS 215's hit the market ?? I don't think the lsx version was available when I got my afr 205's.

They were first shipped in June 2006.

I've had shop owners tell me they liked the AFR's because they made more money on them than TFS heads. When I said the TFS heads should make more power they replied "So, I'm not in business to make the most power, I'm in business to make money"....something to think about.

Great results Mike, to make 500 RWHP with a cam in the low 230's is quite an achievement!

Thanks for the release date and comments. I got my afrs in April 06, so the Trick Flows weren't even an option for LGM to offer me at the time. At the time the AFR 205's were the best thing going and AFR 225's weren't optimum for my combo (stock displacemnt). Had the TFS 215's been available I'd have been very curious to try them, it would've been a good compromise between the 205 and 225 cc AFR heads.

Its easy to Monday morning quarterback, but its not easy to argue with MIKEY's success using the TFS 215's. 500+ rwhp and 455 rwtq !!! Absolutely amazing !!!

Glad to see more 500RWHP combos and people will stop saying how it is impossible. We do it all the time. The right parts make it easy. When we first starting putting these together we took hell for it. Now it is common thing.

Good Job!!!

I guess if the trick flows would've been available I probably would have hit the magical 500 rwhp number too instead of 490. Oh well I am happy, and also glad to see so many other people making 475 rwhp and up. Used to be that 450 rwhp was amazing. Now its just the norm. Seems that with the advancement of cylinder head technology we'll eventually see 500 rwhp become more common place and 525 rwhp to be exceptional. Now keep in mind this is with only 346 ci's too.

I would still like to know the cam profile, but a low 230's?!?!?!?!?!?! Makes me waonder what something in the mid-upper 230's range would run. Damn stout numbers for you man.

How long do you think the bottom end will withstand it? You do have to buy rockers for those heads right?

So to replicate this I'm putting together a shopping list....

1. TFS 215 heads.
2. Dominator cam.
3. Roller rockers, ????
4. Pushrods (do they come with the heads?)
