The L92/LS3 heads are very weak down low and in the middle...Everyone knows that. Now repeat that over and over again until you believe it.

That car on the run flats did 7.6x at 96mph and 11.70 at 120 with a 1.87 60ft, still had the stock intake system even the CAI. I figured with a ported manifold/tb with a few more mods we could possible hit 440RWHP with bolt-ons. Its all in the combo.
Nope, I don't know him. I don't get on CF at all. Is he on tech?? Nice run on the 11.70 !! My best is 12.02 with a 123.6 mph trap into the wind. Almost forgot my 60 2.11

I just installed an L92 into my 1970 GTO and I am using a stock LS7 cam. Is that mild enough? LOL

My stock 08 A-6 made 385 hp and 378 tq then tuning and a vararam only got me around 10 hp and 15 tq. I was hoping it would get more with the tune but like stated above most 08's might not leave much on the table.
However torque managment sucks big time.

Numbers are right in line with what we're seeing. Also you're correct in your other statements.

I am still a little curious to see what kind of power the L92 will make with the LS7 cam. I installed good springs and pushrods, so if the LS7 cam doesn't work out, it will be very easy to swap in something else.

Care to guess the power numbers with the LS7 cam?

Ed,

Educate me on this engine & build. I'm new to LS engines an get confused by engine identification system as what's, what's.

Is this a GM 6.2L L92 engine, LS3 corvette engine, or a hybrid LS engine upgrade to 6.2L with L92 heads?

Guess main question is, are the heads L92 or LS3 becase per GM the LS3 head design is more like the LS7's, don't know about flow comparsion to LS7 or LS92 heads. Just seems to be a difference betweed L92 and LS3 head designs with LS3 following LS7 base design. Flow may be down comparied to L92 heads.

Reason I'm asking is I want to make sure I'm comparing apples to apples to a Vette LS3 430HP as baseline for numbers.

Do you have and idea of what crank HP numbers would be. When I look at GM dyno sheets the most startling one to me is the LS3 376/480 when comparing to like graphs for LS2, L92, LS3 & even LS7.

If in my mind, I try to look at your RWHP graph, it's TQ curve shape and width looks very much like the LS3 376/480 graph when drivetrain lost is factored in. Looks like cam you used is very similar to the GM design.

Seem people say they can't make low end TQ but the LS3 376/480 TQ band is not broad, but wide when compared to the other LS'sand it uses much maligned GM SB cam design. Just look at RPM range engine TQ stays above 400 Ft Lbs compared to the others. Holds above 400 Ft Lbs about like it's bigger brother, the LS7 with 50 less CI.

It is an LS3 Corvette.
The heads are now called LS3s. They are L92s renamed. As for similarities to the LS7s, the are rectangle port, but thats where the similarities end. The LS7s are 12 deg valve angle, the LS3s are 15 deg just like the rest of the LS family.
An LS7 intake wont fit the LS3 heads, and vice versa.
BTW, nice screen name.
PS I would guesstimate the fwhp to be about 540-550
