Default Should I be close to 450rwhp?

2001 Camaro SS 6 speed
PRC 5.3l stg 2.5 heads 62cc
VRX5 cam (236/238 .601/.605)
42# injectors
Full bolt ons (LT's, GMMG, UD pulley, LS6 intake)

I'm hoping this combo will hit around 450whp/400wtq, but I think I may need a fast 90 or 92 combo to get the job done...Any thoughts?

There are way smaller cams making more power than that with these heads...but it could happen...

Just remember, be realistic so that when you dyno and don't put down what you "expected" you won't be so bummed and spend more money trying to find out "Why".

You have a pretty budget setup. Budget setups don't (for the most part) make premium power.

Good luck man

Yeah I would rather underestimate so I am not disappointed if don't hit a certain number. The only thing budget about it is the heads, and they are proven to make "premium" power. I'll shoot for a lower a number, just wanted to see if it was at all possible to hit 450!

Yeah, budget setup dont make premium numbers like he said, unless components are perfectly matched. I know it. I dynoed 405rwhp(on a lower reading dynojet,whatever..)when I expected at least 420-430rwhp. If I ever get on a standard dynojet, I'll redyno it, but I know now you have to get those AFR TFS ETP to get over 450rwhp..Anyway, my setup is far from beeing optimal.

Well, good luck!!

you will be close to 450rwhp but a FAST would put you well over it. i swapped my Ls6 intake for a FAST 90/90 after my H/C install and gained 35rwhp/10rwtq...

current number in my sig: 224 cam and Patriot Stage II heads (59cc)...

Yeah perfect example...this guy and many other I have seen put down great #'s. Everyone gets caught up up with the premium heads thinking they put down 40 more hp to the wheels. Budget heads are good for 40whp...premium maybe 50whp...10hp difference for over a grand more in cost...

I would say you would be REAL close with a 6speed..I'm an A4 with tsp stage2.5 5.3 heads ported fast 90/90 and my cam is about the same size..It's 232/238 6xx 6xx 111+2lsa..I put down 435 rwhp 407 rwt.. I know that I have a ported fast, but I'm an A4,which dynos alot less than a 6speed,so I think you'll be real close with what you have

still not over 450rwhp...i know good power can be made with budget heads, but all these damn 450rwhp-500+ setups seem to have premium heads. Thats my point.
I know if I put the damn ported FAST 90, I'll be very close to 450rwhp or bit over on a low reading dynojet.

Thats a hell of a gain!!!! worth every penny this FAST!!

Question is: was it ported and tuned?? I'm very curious...I'll be doing the move soon.

Just put it on one of the happy dyno's around here. and you'll easily make it

You'll need a 90/90 setup - then you should hit 450 for real.

it was ported and (re)tuned...

it was Mamo ported and then I did some additional porting/sanding to the inside top shell (I removed it to paint the intake gloss black) and the middle and bottom shells together. here is the write up that I did on it...
