Have anyone use the XER273HR ???
I am trying to make a good combiantion for an 2001 Trans Am A4, have SLP cold air intake, LT headers no cats, 160thermost.., thats all.
I am planing on going with the TSP stage 2.5 5.3L heads. I thought that the comp cam xr281hr 112 was good, but i have read that it is choppy, so i was looknig at the XER273HR 224/230 114, Have anyone use this cam, and how good it is for a DD A4 car, and how much will it produce with those heads, tuned. Or what 1/4 should i expect????
What diference can be between XER273HR, 224R and 228R??

I just put this cam in my 2006 GTO...
We have also put it in a 2004 GTO and both of them were A4's.....
My Mod List:
2006 GTO A4 (LS2)
Comp XER 273HR/Fast 92/VIG3200/Pacesetters/HF Cats/Magnagflow CB/Pulley/Stat/Cai
Results SAE Corrected 424RWHP/418RWTQ
Idles with a HINT of lope, very mild cam with power to 6500.
I love it
2004 GTO A4 (LS1)
Comp XER 273HR/VIG 2800/AR Longtubes/HF cats/Flowmaster Cb/Stat (No Pulley)
This car also have a set of Edelbrock XT (Cheaper versions of the RPM's)
SAE Corrected 402RWHP/388RWTQ
Very nice idle with alittle more lope since it has a FM catback..
I love the way this car sounds, even better than mine
This cam will pull hard from 3200 on and up to 6500+,I would run a Yank or PI 3200 to 3600 and 3.73's with it..U will love this cam as a DD setup and with those heads I would expect even more power than the 04 GTO we did with the Edelbrock XT's..I would go with Jasons NEW Revised 243 castings as they are cheaper and IMO might be better than the older 5.3's.....

JS...... thanks a lot.
Have you work this cam with stock LS1 Heads(with comp cam valve springs)??? What rwhp can i expect with the stock heads????
Aproximately the GTO LS1 idles at what rpms??? And do you know what MPG was giving the car?

Idles at 825.....
Decent gas mileage,I lost about 1MPG....
Stock Headed car I would imagine around 375RW
I really like PAC or PSI springs....
I would go Pac 1518 or PSI 1511.....
Remember both the dyno numbers I gave u were A4's...
6SP's would do better
FWIW
I have the POS LS2 intake on my car but will be going to a Fast 92 real soon

thinking of putting this cam with my LQ9/L92 setup. Here is my mods
20k mile stock LQ9 bottom
L92 heads casting #5364 (Ported and polished, milled) (Manley springs)
LS3 intake (ported) with fuel rails and injectors, (matched 42#injectors)
Edelbrock 90mm TB
Not sure who is going to do the tune
Car is a 99 SS M6, has pace setter long tubes, and true duels x piped and dumped

Holy zombie thread batman lol.. I had this cam with stg 2.5 5.3 heads and loved it! But with ls3/l92 heads I'm not real sure if it's enough split my cam is 235/251 .625/.625 with a 113lsa I believe..
