I said this in another thread and Ill say it here... Why would Carmen @ Vette Doctors "fudge" these #s??? It wasnt his bottom end... It wasnt his heads/cam/intake... It was ALL customer supplied. If Carmen wanted to do ANYTHING he could have put LESS effort into making good power because it wasnt his package... Inflating the #s does NOTHING for Carmen or his shop.... Step back and think about it....

500rwhp HCI cars seemed impossible years back... Now with the right parts are able to be duplicated time and time again.

As for your "trap speed" comment... What was the DA? Race Weight? Can the guy drive for ****... Gear ratio.... Too many variables to just say XXX amount of horsepower = xxxmph traps....

Rant off...

Once again, what was your trap speed?

I'm not knocking your setup, I'm just saying that those numbers are a bit on the high end, even for a PERFECTLY well built 383, and even if I owned that 383, I would be skeptical and would take it to another dyno to get a comparison. Better yet, check track times to get a better idea of how much power you're making.

Look, apparently I hit a nerve with you, and you're taking this a little personally. I can have my doubts, I find it hard to believe that your 383 is making that much power, plain and simple.

As far as your vehicle goes, I was asking for your trap speeds, not some other vehicles trap speeds, and I don't generally refer to youtube for racing info, so I didn't read the posts on there. I understand that you just got your vehicle back, and that you haven't had a chance to run it.

Actually, looking back at the posts, I misunderstood that 11.6 as your et, and not your compression. That changes what was going on in my head a little bit.

Regardless, those numbers ARE high, that is undeniable. Bring your car to Vector Motorsports here in detroit, where Katech does a lot of their dyno work, and you'd be lucky if you hit 480rwhp on the rollers. But of course, this is just me speculating based on what I've seen. I'm just trying to make the point that even if people don't lie, all dyno's vary, and are best used for what they are made for, a tuning tool

You have obviously done your work, and I congratulate you on a very well built package. I would love to bring my car and set something up with you, but I'm not very keen on street racing even though I'm a young 24 year old who is new to all this speed stuff.

Tell you what, since I'm a good sport, I'll send you half, 30 dollars no need for a refund regardless, to have your car run on the rollers at DezRacing. Make sure the dyno graph includes AFR of course. Just shoot me a PM with your paypal info.

Best,
Adrian

You are extremely right!

LOOK, never in my words did I ever say anything about them fudging the numbers! I simply said the dyno appears to have read pretty high.

As far as the trap speed comment, his vette looked at normal weight, all the way down to the rims, so I would also assume stock gears as well. He looks to be able to drive given his past, and you would be able to get a pretty decent guaging of the power given that info.

CoderedSS on here is making 470+ rwhp and spraying to about 650 or so with 5.3 TSP heads and MS4 cam FAST 90/90 etc.. on his 383. High 10's on motor and not sure on the juice. A 383 can be sick done right!!!

OUTSTANDING! I'm very glad you decided to bite the bullet and get the ported FAST 90 combo. You'll be very happy with the results. I'm sure it burns rubber with a simple tip in of throttle

***Update 2***

All installed and tuned... something strange and unexpected has happened...

I got an improvement at the rpm top-end... BUT I got BIG gains in the low and middle rpms... This is not what I thought was going to happen. Before I did any tuning I noticed that from 1500ish rpms to 3400ish rpms my VE table was 8% lean and I had to up those values to get my SD/VE tune back inline... My high rpm VE areas were about 2-3% leaner in SD mode..

Soo it looks like I am moving much more air in the middle and lower rpms. I can tell you my "seat of the ***-meter" says the same...

More to come... dyno, etc...

Any dyno yet? Did you happen to dyno prior to the FAST install (doesn't look like it from reading the post), interested in comparison graphs.
