I'd say you're probably close to 460 rwhp given the 78mm throttlebody and factory LS6 intake. Swap a ported Fast 92 setup on there, and expect to see closer to 490 rwhp.

Good luck!

228/232 is definitely a mild cam for a 383, it will have great cylinder pressure, nice idle and great street manners.

Yes it has all those... I am currently driving it... just have not made it to a dyno yet...

It feels THICK from 1800-4000rpms... Throttle response and tip-in will cut you face off... just brutal...

NO, you don't need to upgrade the cam, infact, that cam is a VERY good match for his setup. What he DOES need to do is ditch the 78mm LS6 crap, and drop on a Ported FAST 92/92 setup.

Mine with a tr224 .563" 114 cam made 423/434rwhp/tq.(Torquey) Nice low end and mid range and peaked at 5500rpm and fell of at 6000rpm. On the 346 it peaked at 6000rpm and fell off at 6400rpm. Then I went to a 230/238 .600" 113 cam. Here are its numbers 448/442rwhp/tq. Lost 1700 rpm of usable torque, motor was lazy (Surged badly). Then I went to a new cam 228/228 .630" 114. All the low end and mid range back and feels as strong as the 230 plus cam up top. Just need a tune. This has stage 1 livernios ls6 heads and a ls6 intake with 80mm TB at 10.8:1 comp. Was told to go to the fast 90mm intake and throttle body system to pick up power.

Yup, the setup that he's got here is a very good combination, minus the 78mm setup.

Yupper... I know I am intake limited at the moment... I did not use a FAST specifically because the amount of valve-train noise that comes through it. It is obviously thinner than the LS6 intake... I am "hoping" the new Weiand Street Warrior intake plus a LS2 90mm TB will pick a little more HP... heck it has to be better than the stock intake and 78mm TB...

Nothing wrong with that!!!

I'm doing a little something now that may improve mine - if you can believe it.

If low NVH is a goal, you should consider having a 90mm TB neck welded on to your LS6 intake (like TPIS does). Best of both worlds. FAST 90 flow with LS6 NVH levels.

wow, cant say ive ever heard of anyone complaining about valvetrain noie coming through the intake manifold, this is a first for me.

I didnt notice any difference now that I think back..

Why not just cover the FAST with some kind of sound deadening material?

By buddy just did 472/430 with his 383, 5.3 heads with a 232/234 cam 10.8 scr.
And of course with all supporting mods including a Fast 92/90.
My Fast increased my valvetrain noise also

I'm getting ready to put a Texas Speed 383 bottom end in my z28 m6. I have all the bolt-ons including fast 90 setup, what could this setup make with stock 2000 heads with valvetrain and my ms4 cam?
