Well, the more efficient the engine, the more boost it will loose - but that's overall. What you guys are describing is a loss of boost in a specific range means that the blower has some restriction. I wonder if the 2.6L is enough of a blower. I think Whipple's 3.3L or even the 2.8L from KB would be a better starting point, especially for the 400+cids. It would help uptop and also help with those temps.

Thats been my contention all along. If the engine is very efficient, good heads, cam with some overlap, big motor, whatever, that the 2.6 just aint enough.
I've been told I was full of ****, the blower cant be running out, the belt must be slipping, etc. Even been told the blower should be capable of 1000 hp.
We're working on a 2.8 KB 383 right now. We'll see how that one fairs.
Again, sorry for the hijack.

Id bet that 112 maggie @ 18psi is hot like the sun...
At 2500 rpms 18lbs, rwt 740
3500 rpms 15lbs, rwt 680
5000 rpms 15lbs, rwt 600
6500 rpms 13lbs, rwt 495

Meth really helps it stay cool.

Trust me there is a restriction in the inlet. Jeff @ Total Performance Engineering on the corvette forum made over 800 rwhp with this blower and a 402 ls2. Talk with him he has a cnc program to port the inlet. Or talk with Beck here in Houston. He can build a sheetmetal intake that replaces the KB one.

I wanted to make the changes but the customer is more than happy with the car!

Tell your customer to sell his Zaino collection he's probably got and get some real tires on that thing

What possesses somebody to have a car built making 700 rwhp on stock tires? LOL

Sick torque. That always kills me seeing cars making double what I am (or close to it) and still on street tires. Hell, I'd have enough trouble on street tires and my car is a wuss.

The case size between the 2.6 and the 2.8 are astonishing as Ed has had both in his shop. We will soon see if the 2.8L is any different as I am thinking that it is. BTW I will be getting the new intake tract done for back to back pulls.

How do you guys like the part throttle torque of the KB? Predictable for when you have to pedal it?

Props on the car, the torque is that of a diesel, put a hitch on the back of it !!

Its really on or off. As soon a you give it more than 1/4 throttle it makes 8-9 psi and 13 psi if floored. So it tends to do nothing but spin.

How you guys comming with the BS3 on the ls2 GTO? I have a car we are about to finish that we are thinking of swaping the engine controls over to BS3.

It really is fun though. On a drag tire, 3.15 geared car it should perform great in the 1/4 mile as the torque will pull you through it.
