From what someone who works at the chevy dealer told me who has 02 z28 some got the ls6 block from factory, said the only way to tell is to have the trans out and look at the back of the engine? His was an ls6 but hes swapping to a lq9 hoping to hit 8's was running low 10's I believe, its a fully built car.

I have never seen a 98-02 car with 243 heads, only read about it....
It doesn't matter anyway, they are so cheap and easy to get a hold of that anyone can do a nice ls6 conversion.
RED99TA....what kind of hp #'s and track times are you getting for those afr's? Is your car still a 346 cu.in.?

stock bottom-end and dynoed 445/402 with an LS6 intake/TB and 24 deg timing. Now running ported 90/90 setup with 26 deg timing (fixed some detonation issues) and will dyno again this summer. Only track time I have is 11.94 @ 121.4 with a slipping clutch. I didn't even do a burnout before that run for fear of heating up the clutch even worse hence the crappy time. I'm actually in the middle of a McLeod twin disk install now so track times to come this summer/fall after the clutch is broken in.

Lots of posts here, but still not many are answering the question that the original OP was asking. I too have an LS6 crate in my 02, but have never dyno'd. I would also like too know what other's put down to the ground.

Wow I can't believe I just noticed this thread. I have a ls6 swap since 2002. Just got done retuning with a fast 90 and 85 mm slp maf. Now keep in mind I've been tinkering with this thing for years. It now has all bolt-on and tuned with 42lb injecters.
Final #'s 426 rwhp! for a full bolt-on stock crate ls6 with 80,000 k on it. We ran it to 7000rpm because the power just stayed flat. This thing is nasty, the fast really made it pull up top. I forget what exactly tq was, he's suppose to email me a graph as his printer was out.
I have been on several dyno's over the years and no this one is not happy. Started out @ 399 w/o a tune, tune took it to 403, more break-in and bigger injecters went to 407, header change to kooks+3" y, ecw, ported ls6 intake went 413.......and now the fast and another injecter change and some fine tuning 426rwhp! Not bad for a engine rated @ 405 hp
