LS6 F-Body Engine Swaps: Post Mods & Dyno #'s
I did my LS6 crate motor swap in my '98 Z28 in the summer of '04. Back when I did it, it wasn't that common of a swap, and several people were holding out to do a LS2 swap because the LS2 crate motor wasn't out yet. Due to another recent thread, I've realized just how many more have done the LS6 swap in the past 4 years.
I'm curious what kind of RWHP #'s and track times (if you've got them) you were able to get after the swap. Please post your mods too so those of us with an LS6 can see what we need to do to get the RWHP we're aiming for. I personally want to get over the 400 RWHP mark that I'm very close to (I'm thinking a TR224 cam should do it, but I'm curious if a Fast 90 or 92 intake might get me there as well).
Here's my info:
-'98 Z28, M6
-LS6 longblock with F-Body oil pan (GM Part #: 12498399)
-Hooker Shorty Headers
-SLP LS6 Intake w/EGR
-Taylor Ignition Wires
-Whisper Lid
-Vengeance Racing Ported Throttle Body
-JET Ported MAF Ends
-SLP 2OTL Exhaust
-Vengeance Racing Dynotune
RWHP = 377.9 RWTQ = 375.3
Added AFTER dynotune
-Powerbond Underdrive Crank Pulley
-180 Degree Thermostat
-SLP Cold Air Induction
I'm guessing I'm right at 385 RWHP now...
Post up your mods and #'s if you've done the swap!

This will be an interesting thread. I know in the C5's we're good for around 380RWHP with LT's, CAI, and a tune. I think it would be cool to hit 400 at the wheels with stock internals...I think a ported FAST with an UD pulley would do it in a Z06 (with LT's, CAI, and a tune).

Congrats, sounds good, I done the same thing 3 years ago when I blew my car up on nitrous (kit stuck micro switch when bad) and my 1998 SS put down 387 rwhp and 378 rwtq on the dyno with all mods in my signiture below exept Futral F13 cam, Fast 90 intake and SVO 30lb injectors. I did have the stock LS6 cam (405 hp rated, LS6 intake and MTI billet polished throttle body and stock LS6 injectors (28.8). Car when 11.77 in the 1/4 mile on Weld draglies (15/10 rear 15/3 front).

Well Just posting this up, its one of my buds cars,He has a 1999 ws6 automatic with 3.42 gears and a stock stall. He got a great deal on a used LS6 engine out of a 03z06. Buddy payed about $1500 for the longblock at a gm service station.
Mods
PaceSetter Longtubes
Pacesetter offroad ypipe
SLP Lid+Bellow
Ported and polished TB
LS6 Intake
FTRA
Hooker Catback
10 Bolt with 3.42 gears
Tune
The car is still missing an underdrive pulley, a better intake, the ypipe plainly sucks he just ordered a flowmaster y merger. He dynoed in march of this year, there are alot of people who doubt the ls6 but here is what he put down. You can see that the tune made a big difference.

From what someone who works at the chevy dealer told me who has 02 z28 some got the ls6 block from factory, said the only way to tell is to have the trans out and look at the back of the engine? His was an ls6 but hes swapping to a lq9 hoping to hit 8's was running low 10's I believe, its a fully built car.
