Default Non traditional "what if" showdown...

My stock 1994 Z28 A4 vs tuned/exhaust Acura RDX.

This race won't happen due to the exhaust not being sold at this time, and probably not being able to find a person with a tuned RDX that wants to race, lol.

Basic stats on paper look like the advantage goes to the LT1:
LT1: 230 rwhp, 273 rwtq, 3525lbs (2.73's, has run 14.3 @ 97 mph and has trapped 98 mph).

RDX: 249 awhp, 292 rwtq, 3924lbs

The LT1 has a 15.32 power to weight ratio and 12.91 torque to weight ratio. The RDX has a 15.76 power to weight ratio and a 13.44 torque to weight ratio.

Advantages for the LT1 are that the torque was dropping when the pull started at 4000 rpm, so it probably makes more than what showed up on the graph.

Advantages for the RDX is that it is AWD and has a better power curve that holds power way longer.

RPM....LT1 HP/TQ...RDX HP/TQ
4000...206/273.......218/283
4500...226/263.......237/276
5000...230/240.......241/252
5500...220/210.......249/239
6000...xxx/xxx........246/218
6500...xxx/xxx........241/198

Also, the LT1 has a 2.73 rear gear to the 4.53 ratio in the RDX.

Curious as to your guy's thoughts. Honestly, I hate to say it, but I think a mildly modded RDX has a chance to hit a 13, with the AWD, and take out my stock LT1.

I would love to see this race if it ever happened. I'd have to root for the SUV, because come on, who would think that SUV could take an LT1 just by looking at them?
