thanks for the feed back guys, ill let you guys know what happens.
yeah i kno its kinda out there to bet that much on my stock car. but it was kinda a heat of the moment thing. my buddy and his dad were talking smack when i got my SS, said that his Chrysler 300c with a chip and intake would beat it....so one thing led to another and now its a couple thousand dollar bet against his 1988 porche. 40mph role.

here are full specs on a 89' model, which seemed to be a carry-over year, before the change in 90' came.
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/porsch...res-specs8.htm
The link shows an aircooled 3.2L flat 6 making 214hp.
Found weight range 2,740-2,950, so the son was half right
Using the 1/4mi calculator at the lowest weight and highest power they should go 14.0-14.2 amd at the heavier weight it should go 14.6-14.7.

I say you have little to be worried about, toss in a set of 4.10's and sneaky pete w/ 50hp jet if you are really concerned about him being modded/up to something.

Buddy had a hopped up 911 not sure what year anymore but was supposedly very fast. We raced and actually think raced him with my mabye mid 13 second 80 ta and wasted him really badly. We ran off the line . He did a bit better afterwards on some rolls especially at higher speeds. My 80 ta had 342 gears and likely weighed around 3800 raceweight with mildy done up old low compression pontiac 400.
I would have brought my 96z or my 99 to race him if would have lost .My 99 had cam and headers and little bolts ons back then not the built 408 or twin turbos.
He was talking the smack but he shut up quick after the races. He let me drive it once or twice. It was very touchy and hard to launch. It shifted crappy if you tried to shift it really fast. Its definitely more a finess type of shifting setup. You don't ram shifts with the porches at least not his. It did seem decent quick but it was geared more for high speeds. I expected it to launch awesome off the line but neither me or him could really get it to launch very good at all.. could have been tire choices.
I would buy some nitto drag radials you can run them year round I do and make him go from a dig not a roll. Although really you have more like 75 hp advantage with ls1 being so underated and still time for a few sneaky but effective mods. Add a lid and maybe a cutout. That should give you another 30 hp or so over him. It shouldn't be pretty for him unless he has mods and is not telling you the truth.
My bet is on you. Don't go putting 4.10 in there though without buying those nitto drag radials. they will just make you spin and go slower without the tires.
