No idea what the porche is capable.. but stock cars for a few Gs? I say you invest in a hidden spray kit for safety

well i've read they do the quarter somewhere between mid 13s to mid 14s. don't think it should be an issue as long as you shift well.

Default thanks for the feedback

thanks for the feed back guys, ill let you guys know what happens.

yeah i kno its kinda out there to bet that much on my stock car. but it was kinda a heat of the moment thing. my buddy and his dad were talking smack when i got my SS, said that his Chrysler 300c with a chip and intake would beat it....so one thing led to another and now its a couple thousand dollar bet against his 1988 porche. 40mph role.

If he has anything done to his Porsche you could be seeing taillights and an empty wallet.

There is no way a stock 88 911 is 2000 pounds unless he gutted it; a flat 3k for a fully trimmed model is more like it. So he has you on weight.

http://www.flat-6.net/forum/showcar....r_model_id=188

High end model for that year was the turbo and the 911 slant nose is a big collector car. Even if he has the highest end model for that year, he is pushing 300 - 320 depending on the tune. So you should have him by 10 - 30 hp - so one for you on power.

If you shift correctly, and he does not bs you on the mods to his car, you should win on paper.

But races aren't won on paper... Assuming you are a good driver and his car is a stocker (even the high end stocker), my money is on you. If he has a turbo, take a close look to see if it has been modified and if he can adjust the boost from the cabin; if these items seem changed ask for 2 - 3 car lenghts and you should still pull away.

i also have a bone stock 2000 ss. i also have a huge gambling problem too. i can't express this enough, if your car is fully stock that the hydraulic systems in this cars are awful. i really found out when i went to the track for the first time about a month ago. you cannot power shift especially into 3rd!!! i agree with this guy above; take out a personal loan if you have to cuz u will get it back most likely. what he said above plus a tick master adj master it will run you about $400 and get a pro 5.0 w/ short stick (replace with stock ****) i got all these and waiting to receive them. its all about an edge and never!!! take a porche lightly no matter what year it is. i would never take someones word that there car is stock. everything is always about sand baggin.in the end make sure you walk away with a w. p.s one bad shift and your a few g's short. put sneaky parts mentioned here and pay them off with your winnings cuz i bet u he's preppin for this race

its Porsche not porche. not trying to be a *** or nothing, since you did say you didn't know much about them.

couple things I see wrong with this. That car stock is not 2000 lbs. So either hes lying or trying to get over on you, and people that make thier car lighter are usually into making it go fast, which means they usually mod the car too. Seems fishy, I say if you have agreed on a "stock" race, you throw gears, and a sneaky pete on there. And if his car looks to be heavily modded Ide call it off. If its your buddy and his dad, I would hope theyre not trying to get over on you, if so Ide get new friends...

well the bet is "stock vs. stock" and i know guy pretty well, his son is the one who said it was 2000 lbs. and i would not be surprised if he was totally off on his numbers. for my first port on this forum im surprised at all the feedback ive gotten. props to ls1tech, great forum

dude do you by any chance live in rialto? Because this porsche guy sounds like the same douchebag that had his lil weiner kid son call me out to race his pos old carrera when i had my gto, and off course I accepted yet never raced him because he pussied out Hmm i wonder why? Oh wait it might of been the sound of a straightpiped gto that scared him away

goodluck tho, you should spank that porsche no problem especially from a dig IMO

That porsche will run 13.7-14.1 STOCK. Watch one make a few runs. so you should have the race if your a good driver. It'll be close.

Why would you take a chance on throwing away money like that instead of spending it on mods for your car????? Obviously your not very confident that youll win and thats alot of money!

JMO man. Good luck let us know how it turns out!
