in the handling department the new camaro is going to be way better than the 4th gens and in a straight line it should be quite a bit faster too. I think the new camaro is in the same class as the 370z because they are both rwd, 2 door sport and the same price range, just one has a v8 and the other has a v6

Some people might cross-shop them, but they still aren't in the same class. Just like the C5 and the '03-'04 Cobra weren't in the same class. They are built for two different purposes. And I'm sure that the new Camaro will handle quite a bit better than the 4th gen, but you still can't argue with physics (unless you have 2463256264562 computers like the GT-R)... a 3900lb 4-seater isn't gonna handle as well as a 3200lb 2 seater. It's not a "bad" thing, it's just that they are very different cars. But I disagree that it's gonna be much faster than the LS1 cars. It might be a bit faster, but not by a lot.
Right now, the G8 runs the 1/4 mile in the same time as the 370 z at 13.7. With the z trapping 103.6mph and the g8 trapping 104. Now keep this in mind, the z has an extra gear, and weighs less. Plus the g8 did this with a 2.92 gear.
The g8 stopped from 60mph in 109 feet. The 370z did it in 102.
The 370 will beat it in the turns no doubt, but its a 2 seater car that weighs 400 lbs less.
This car will get raped on the street just like its older brothers. It may impress s2000 owners but probably not domestic owners.

You just kind of seem like an import nut swinger to me. Every nut bag that buys a 370z will try to race it against every vet/mustang/camaro they see....until they are sick of getting raped. They may be built for different purposes, but on the street its all stop light to stop light. People dont race "teh Twizties" on teh streets.

My only point is, that the 370 is going to get beat the **** up on the streets just like the 350z...not only is it going to get beat up by vettes/mustangs and camaros, its going to get beat up by sedans. How sporty is that? Same class or not is a stupid argument. yes the car will sell, it might be even be a hit. But, its still going to get beat up on every street in America. You like the car, I dont. I think we can leave it at that.

It's a low 13s car, which is faster than the majority of cars in the country. I think the majority of the owners are going to be satisfied with its performance, and for those that aren't... that's why there are modifications.

Me and my family/friends have actually had quite a bit of good experience with Nissan. My dad's '00 Maxima, my '05 Frontier (which I plan on getting another one), my best friend has an '04 Titan that he's had no problems with. So I guess it's all preference.

i wouldnt buy one because your going to need F/I or nitrous to make it faster and there goes your 35,000 dollar car warranty.
Stock not a bad car but i dont believe its going to take well to EXPENSIVE bolt ons... the old ones didnt.

LOL at all the people who are so purposefully ignorant that they can't admit that a 3.7 liter V6 making well over 300 hp (like they said above, more than the 2010 GT), in a car that will probably run right with or reasonably close to most of the modern musclecars coming out, is pretty damn quick.
This car makes more hp than any of the non supercharged 4-valve mustangs and even the idiots at the magazines are able to run mid 13's with it, meaning that it is probably capable of running low 13's or even cracking a 12...what a POS
EDIT: I just saw that Motor Trend ran a 13.3 @ 107 mph with one. Obviously
