It will be here Monday. It is going in the wife's Trail Blazer, replacing the 5.3 V8. It seems the wife blew here engine in outr 06 TB.( It is not the EXT. 4X4 though)Her words were "I don't want a race engine Scott. I just want to be able to drive my truck again".
After viewing what I could buy a new 5.3 or 6.0 for, I opted to go this route and save money believe it or not.LOL I am not building this to be a major competitor....right now anyways. Subtlety is the word. So that being said, I am using the stock 5.3 stuff for the topend. I would LOVE to find a 224 cam for it. Nothing bigger because I don't want to buy a stall converter.
So going back in, for the now, with 5.3 heads and a factory LS1 cam, and stock manifolds and exhaust, I wonder what this thing will put out RWHP wise.
I do have Texas Giant cam begging to be used though.LOL To bad it wont work with a factory stall.
What do you guys think? I really do feel like Tim the Tool man right now.LOL God is she going to be pissed the first day she drives it.LOL

She'd probably kill you if you did the big cam and stall which is why I said dont be a *****. I know mine would, she never complained about any of the cars I've built and enjoyed riding in them but she hated to drive them. It does sound like it will be a fun little truck though.

It should be a blast! With the heads and cam from the 5.3 the low end torque should make it a street light to street light beast! I use this truck to pull my boat and car. I want a 12 second truck.LOL With the Lightning putting out 380 crank and going mid 13's @ a fat 4800 lbs. I feel I should hit 12's NA at the same weight.
I wot be racing it from a dig at the track much. The 4l65e is a turd IMHO. I want 400 plus rwhp.That is until she gets her Audi. Then I will break out the sickness.

You could put the stall out of the I6 TB and headers for a TBSS should work.

Look on PT.NET, Zippy took a 6.0 and put 5.3 heads in it with a 224 cam on 114 with the stock manifolds, stall, and everything. He was very very happy with it
