Well actually the cam was changed to increase torque at a certain rpm range and doesn't QUITE offset the LS6 intake (from what I've gathered). Ram Air MAY make a small difference but only at extremely high speeds (even though we have no way to substantiate such a claim-thereby rendering iy off limits for debate). An Ls1 in an fbody should be a low to mid thirteen second car and 0-60 time (if anyone gives a **** ) should be in the five second range or lower depending on engine health, launch, and how well it breathes. I would have a hard time believing that at the above mentioned elevations, that these LS1 cars can't break the 14 sec mark, when guys with a couple bolt-ons and good 60ft. are breaking into the twelves~! Must have to do with the type of engine oil being used.

Wow. I could only read about 3 pages of that dribble.

.......going back to work on my slow Camaro.

On second thought, maybe I should sell it so I can mod the Suburban.....because a big, heavy tank is obviously faster than a "plastic" car.

Is that board somehow affiliated with srtforums or hondatech?

how can someone say that when they only raced for a 20mph increment? thats just stupid. Thats not even a 3 second race in a LS1. The car didnt even get rolling damnit.

hell, I ran a 13.6 @ 106 bone stock running on 7 cylinders (had a hole in piston #5 and didnt find out until a week later after the track)
ok, thats not very believable either. there is no way you ran a 13.60 with a hole in a piston. come on now, lets not get ahead of ourselves here.

yeah where im from elevation is hell 6600 adjusted at the track, 5500 in town in my car best i got was a 13.98 with a few mods stock runs around 14.2 but hey if i would have takin my car to sealevel it would have ran mid to high 12's. we have had a few people take there cars to sea level they came back with 1 to 1 1/2 second quicker times (elevations a bitch).ive never seen someone that has gone to sealevel from here and seen less than 1 second change in time.

Mine takes 19 seconds. Oh wait, that's how long it takes me to walk from my room to the fridge for another beer to numb that craziness. I was way off.

I do have a serious question out of this. Since that one seemed pretty much dead and some asshat had to revive it with his "saying his piece" and how that board is better than others b/c they don't bash other peoples' rides yadda yadda....What is he yapping about posting a 1000' and why would that matter? Last time I was at the track, there wasn't some magical stripe at the 1000' mark with a sign by it saying this is the 1000' mark and it's ok to not race anymore...so why would it matter? Maybe I'm in the minority here, but do we now race to the 1000? Is that what I'm missing? Maybe it's a truck thing, just like going from 30 to 55 and calling it a race.

there is a 1000ft track in Arkansas in Centerville, and don't most time slips include a 1000ft as well?

I think he means convertible Trans-Am. It wasn't that crazy kid with the hearing aids that would do donuts in the middle of 24th was it?

My 1000 ft. point was more a rhetorical than anything. As one of the members on that board was just incensed at a 1000 ft. timeslip like the person posting it was from another planet and didn't know anything b/c of it. Further evidence that a couple people on that board (as well as a couple on any forum on the internet) are full fledged examples of tools.
Also, most slips I've seen and kept do include a 1000 ft. time...but I'm normally skipping a line down to see the number I'm after.

As for a convertible tranny, I'm not goin there...I'll leave that pinata to someone else to hit.
