It was originally a street car then turned track car. Wanted to see how fast he could go with it. Now that our local track has shut down and the closest in any direction is 2hrs, it's going back to a street car. He tried a 228R, but it didn't go any faster. Same times as the TR224 so he put it back in.

ok so talked to the guy again today and he said one street tires he ran a 12.0xx with the car as it sits, he also "said" hes doing a 228ish cam and port/polish his 243s over the summer and wants to run this fall
i figure with a 100 shot (dry- can have it in for ~400) i could take him by a couple of lengths as is, but with the heads and cam, WTF WILL I NEED?

h/c and prob intake he will be making between 450rwhp - 490rwhp. Some even break the 500's. You'll need all bolt ons as possible, head, cam and intake. Cam only if you dont have the money and prob a 150 shot!! With a cam only and possibly intake on your car you should put down any where from 400rwhp - 420rwhp. With that 150 shot you should be able to take him. 100 shot might be a very very close race...
good luck!!
