okay guys i have an opinion question. I have a 98 ws6 heads/cam car making 402hp/381tq. With street tires i run consistant 12.4's and a best of 12.29 with eagle f1's on a 70 degree day. Yesterday my buddy asked me if i want to race him in his dads 2007 gt500. I said i would, then he asked if i wanted to put money on it. of course i said yes. Right now i have drag radials so he wanted to do a roll, how do you guys think that would turn out? i have a stock 4l60E with a vig 2800. We were thinking of doing like 50-110. then i asked him if he wanted to do it at the drag stip, both of us on street tires. like i said im consistant 12.4's and with a good pass i can hit 12.2's(street tires). im guessing he can cut a decent time but not to the cars full potential. you guys think i should bet or pass? thanks

 

**** son, i think you will beat him, my brother in law got one, and he is a very good driver, and he had a hell of a time getting it into low 12's on street tires. those gt500's, they love to spin, so much torque so low, you gotta pedal that car to get it down the strip with minimal spin. and I'm going to go out on a limb here and say if it's daddy car he probably wont have as much seat time in it as you do in your own car.

 

thats what i was thinkin man, hes only driven it a few times and iv launched my car a couple hundred or so....what was the best time your brother in law ever ran if you know?

 

he didnt keep it stock very long, last time he had a intake and tune, which gives those things a ton of power and he still had yet to get into the 11's. stock i think he ran 12.20's but im tellin you he can drive the **** out of anything with wheels. he took his wifes bone stock s2000 to a 13.70

 

okay so im thinkin it'll be a good race to bet on, how about the roll???

 

only way i would run for money against him in your car would be from a dig, i think he wont have too much of problem from a roll
