I think that you have him beat, even if its not completely stock.

I used to be big into 5.0 stangs b4 i fell back in love with the 3rdgen Formula/Trans am's

The 93 cobra was underrated hp..they really made about 255-265hp..and with a good driver and tires they hit high 13s stock so..im still with the ls1 on this tho..even if he is bolted.

i was told by my transmission guy to run that size stall being i wont be doing much to the car hp wise just some small bolt on power. but i have looked all in the car under the hood and under the car. he aint sprayin cuz i see no hoses and he aint super or turbo charged because i would hear the waste gate on a turbo and i would hear the jet like sound of a supercharger. he will not run any body but me unfortunately i have tried to set him up with a buddy that has an 02 Z28 LS1 but he wont. i will just have to lose 100 if he has something to hide cuz i am tired of him bothering the hell out of me. but after hearing everyones opinion i am definitely alot comfortable. Thanks guys!

You really have nothing to worry about even if he has a few bolt ons. However, like someone else mentioned if he is willing to throw down $100 on it...something is suspect. He has to be hiding something. I'd say you still have nothing to worry about b/c you have an A4 which will eat him alive out of the hole and he will be playing catch up the whole time. But if you can talk him into a 1/4 that would be your best option as you will trap much higher. Make sure you take off your TCS before you run! Good luck.

but they are a 6 speed...not 5 speed

Not knowing either one of these guys, the Cobra guy could weigh 250 lbs and antsls1 could weigh 150 lbs, and since we are not talking about 6-second drag cars, weight is ALMOST negligible. Besides, power difference and gear ratio would put the Z28 in the winner's circle and $100 in his pocket, as long as the snake doesn't have a healthy shot of venom hiding somewhere.

this is the type of convo that brought over to the LS side instead on the 5.0/Mod motor side. LS's make alot more power stock and react better to simple mods while it seems like everyone that does a ford ends up with a supercharger or turbo because thats the only way they make serious power with street cars.

i would i have to say the ls1 is bring home another win as long as u dont spin real bad and he gets out in front of you. In the 1/8 mile you wont have much time to run him down. So be careful with the launch and you will smoke him

the only 'stock' cobra you'll ever have to worry about is 03/04. Sad to hear your friend owns a 93 cobra and its a POS. Fairly rare cars arent they?

if it is in fact a true cobra then yes its kinda rare. only 5100 cobras were made, only 100 being the R model.

A stock 93 Cobra is going to run about the same 1/4 miles times as a LT1.....if he has the typical bolt on mods he sould be running around what a stock LS1 runs.

My brother had a 93 Cobra that ran these numbers.

Is this even a question? ive owned 3 f-bodies and 2 cobras and the only car coming out on top is the 03 cobra followed by the f-bodies then in last is my old 98 cobra. My ws6 as is right now will blow my 98 out of the water without question. take the money.

+1 and chances of him launching better than you with your stalled A4 is slim

1. borrow some 26" dr's from a buddy (burn em up for about 5 seconds.)
2. bump him up to $500 no questions asked
3. Hes gonna want to re inspect your car..let him
4. win, laugh, money in pocket
