ok i am looking to sell my camaro and get a corvette. i don't wanna do much at all to the vette. i'm trying to get out of modding. i just wanna ease into middle age. you know, just spend all weekend waxing the **** outta my vette then cruise around like the tool i am.
so what can a decent driver in a stock to mildly modded c5 z06 do. like maybe a catback, intake, tune. nothing else. i just wanna break 11's so i don't lose to these local f-bods. there are a few running low low 12's. my neighbor ran a 12.4x last saturday. and theres a young punk with nitrous that talks a big game but runs on street tires and wont even run my TBSS

The street and track are two totally different things. You can run 11's at the track and lose to a 13 second car on the street. If I were you I would be more concerned at the trap speed. If you can afford it I would get a C6 LS3 instead of a C5 Z06 too.

true, about losing to slower cars on the street. i raced a fox body not to long ago and barely pulled him, then lost from missing 4th, got home and the next day was just doing some checking over my car and found one spark plug was all cracked up. i had noticed a slight miss but my car is real jittery anyway so i dismissed it. fixed that and she runs like a dream now. now i want a rematch.

I'm in the same situation. I want to get a c5 Z06 as well but I'm keeping my WS.6. Since I was curious I started asking all the Corvette guys and the concensus was that a stock C5 Z06 runs a 4.0 sec 0-60 and a low to mid 12 sec quarter mile. So with a intake, full exhaust and tune you'll be running consistant high 11's and you'll have a car that could mop most cars around the corners. I can't wait for my Z.
