I want to see the before and after graph for the header swap. I am also thinking about swapping my LG Pros for ARH 1-7/8"

On the header graphs no problem brother. Ron here at Vengeance is putting together all the information and will be starting a thread very soon. Most likely after the car is 100% so we don't have to go back and update or explain anything. To tease you a bit, the ARH 1 7/8 did better down low, but fell behind the lg 1 3/4 in the middle then blew by them up top. IMHO the 2 most important parts of the race, power to come out the hole, and power up top to keep your lead and then some.

Did the pull with the new tfs 215s milled to 59cc's and all I can say is that I am very happy. Car has been cooling down for literally 10 mins since we did 3 power pulls and now that shes cool we are doing again, this just in..........................539 / 507 power everywhere, especially 4500 rpms and up. Keep in mind tuning is far from complete.

Correction factor was 1.06 and temp is 100 degrees and she still makes sick *** power. Looks like 550 rwhp after the custom cam and final tuning is done should be doable.

wow.....
so,

Vengeance baseline numbers... 500/500
Racetronix fuel pump added, and ARH 1 7/8... 511 rwhp 501 rwtq
tfs 215s milled to 59cc's.. 539 / 507

So you picked up damn near 40whp from a header and heads swap... and you havent done the cam yet....

Honestly doug, im kinda shocked. kick *** bro. 30hp is alot from a head swap. i could understand going from like a ported ls6 to this, but thats crazy going from a set of afr 205s.

cant wait to see how the cam swap goes. post up a dyno when you can, im curious how the power band is changing.

congrats bro

I will make a post tomorrow/Thursday once the cam swap is completed and outline the entire build/changes/results and post graphs/videos of everything possible. The ARH/LG comparison is quite interesting and did change the power band quite a bit.

Well John, we have talked on the phone, and I told you how the heads were opened to a 4 inch bore and the afr's were standard bore. The tfs flow a good amount of cfm more at 600 lift and continue to flow above 600 better then the afr. Cam is going in tomorrow and final tuning on the street and then dyno for WOT will be done on Thursday for some FINAL numbers. Had to do a catch can because of the excessive amount of oil in the intake. That oil was getting into the cylinders and could very well be the true explanation for my alleged detonation issues at WOT. Car seened to run better with the new fuel pump and catch can. Car gets better everytime Mike adjusts the tune......Can't wait to see the FINAL numbers. Oh and I got a surprise to post up after everything is said and done. A hint is that it will shake the ground when activated. LOL

Nice, Doug. 550 rwhp when all is said and done should be no problem.

When your car is all said and done, let me know. You can then race and beat up on my slow exotic and get some revenge..

I never wanted to tell you this, but LG's dyno is WAY over inflated. Always has been, and probably always will be.

great numbers for such small heads, also looks like Mike knows how to tune very well.

btw, what is the compression ratio with the new TFS heads?

Compression is in line with what it was when LGM was done with it. 11.09 to 1 give or take a bit. Abdullah, hope that helps. Keep in mind the afr 205s were 59cc with a clean up pass of .002 or .003 so we'll say 58.5cc and the TFS 215's were milled to 59cc as well to keep the comparisons equal and direct.

Cam will go in today, and numbers will be up tonight. Tomorrow she'll be prowling the streets of Georgia doing some street tuning, and then FINAL WOT tuning on the dyno. I am very impressed with the power gained from one top notch head to the next. That afr 205 kicks *** flat out, but it just couldn't hold its own against the tfs 215 past mid rpms. A 402 and a 346 two different animals. IMHO the afr 205 works on both but is better suited on 346 and 364 motors (stock displacement ls1 and ls2's) The tfs 215 works well on 346's but really shined on a 402. Awesome head !! Perfect balance ...

STAY TUNED for further updates, probably around 5 pm.

Previously posted about at 244/248 600 ish cam well thats not the cam for this setup after some very informative conversations about my goals for this motor.

The cam thats going in today is taylored to the flow of the tfs 215's. No need to have crazy .640 lifts when the heads don't flow much past .625. At any rate specs will be posted after all is said and done. Wish me luck on hitting 550 rwhp, but if she doesn't I am still happy because of the improvements so far and the reliability I'll have since Vengeance made a few changes. (Fuel pump upgrade, catch can, breather and few other items)

The more this thing gets done to it, the more shortcuts that LG took are being found. Why take short cuts when you had 5 months ?? And they wonder why I was pissed.

I'd post a list but I'd probably get banned. I will be discussing this list with Anthony at LGM to see what he has to say. Sorry but I won't be able to share the info.
