I own a mustang and even I know stock the ls1 came with the ls1 (early intake) and the ls6 later intake. I think the change was made in 2000. All 2000 up have the ls6 intake as the stock intake the ls1 was the 98-99 intake. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

It's 98-00 is the ls1 intake, 01-02 has the ls6 intake. I have an 00 and just upgraded to a fast 92 and nw 92. I haven't gotten dyno numbers back just yet. My cousin has an 02 z28 and I pull on him, esp in 3rd, it's a pretty hard pull. It was neck and neck before for intake and tb.

anyway i think you will pick up 15-20 hp, but your throttle response will be very snappy. you will also want to make sure you get tuned for it of course.

how in the world was i suppose to know what year or car he got his ls1 from. thats why i asked. he could have gotten it from a 01-02 camaro or even a vette.
