So I just picked up a rebuilt 5.3 from a friend cheap. I would like to know what you guys think of this setup i plan on building, and possibly throwing in something like a 78 Z28...
It will be a street/strip setup no matter what it goes in
Totally rebuilt 01 5.3
-Stock rotating assembly
-arp rod bolts
-arp head studs
-milled .30 862's/Fully ported/polished heads stock valves, patriot springs etc.
-TSP recommended 228/232 .581 .581 roller
-Port matched Victor jr
-650/750 proform carb
-Speedtech plate kit pilled to 200
-Fully built TH-350 (transbrake,red clutches,upgraded drum etc.)
-Custom 9.5'' billet converter (3500 stall)
-4.10 gear
I know the heads arent the best and that i should have gone bigger but i got this motor cheap and will upgrade in the long run. I already have the carb, trans/converter and plate kit off my 92 camaro im parting out.
So what do you think it would make powerwise, and is there anything you would change? Your input is greatly appreciated

im gonna guess est hp around 420-450fwhp,,
heads are fine just install the bigger valves. but with them valves if there ported and polished should stil run good.
a 200 shot ,, i would try it, hell why not, but not anything bigger, haha, ive myself have been switching to a carb... good luck
